Friending Staff on Facebook
Please note that the Department of Education and Communities has this advice for teachers 'Friending' parents on Facebook:
The line between your professional and personal life could become blurred making it difficult to manage your professional relationship with the parents when that becomes necessary. You also need to bear in mind that becoming a Facebook friend with a parent could result in their children getting access to your account as well. You also need to be mindful that you need to be careful what you say on Facebook if you have parents as friends as comments made online can be misunderstood and could result in parental complaints made to your principal. In short, please do not ask to friend a member of staff on Facebook as refusal often offends.

Potato, Potarta!
It's all happening in the Garden Club. Students have been busy in the veggie patch preparing the potato bed and planting seed potatoes. They are now busy watering and waiting for them to sprout. This week we were busy potting up our own seed tray of salad mix - tomato, lettuce, capsicum and basil. Our pots will stay in our seed-raising box and when the seedlings are ready students will take them home to plant.
Thanks to Renae from Denman Community Garden and Muswellbrook Shire Council.

Kinder had a fantastic time at the Denman Library today! Reading with Sarah was so much fun, and everyone loved making frog crafts. Next time, Sarah is planning to hide some frogs for us to find - how many will we discover? We can’t wait for our next adventure!

It was a Blue-tiful day supporting the Blue Tree Project. Did you know that at DPS, we alternate our fundraisers between school initiatives and community support? This approach not only helps us give back to our wider community, but also offers our students valuable experiences. As part of our commitment to developing responsible and compassionate citizens, DPS students actively engage in researching who to support through collaboration with their peers.
