Congratulations to our 7 DHS Students representing the school and the wider Riverina at the NSWCHSSA State Athletics Championships this week in Sydney. We wish Julia, Monique, Bella, Chris, Ryan, Phoebe, and CJ the best of luck in their respective events.

Monique: Jumped 4.25m in 13 Girls Long Jump, not quite reaching her Riverina target.
CJ: Earned Gold in 17 Boys Shot put with 16.89m, and Bronze in Discus!

Well done CJ and Monique on your efforts!

This semester Mr King's Year 9 PASS class have embraced inclusivity in their 'Physical Activity and Sport for All' unit! They've been trying out modified activities such as Goalball, Wheelchair Basketball using scooter boards, blind indoor football with a guide, and various forms of table tennis including sitting variations. A huge thank you to John at the Deniliquin Stadium for letting us use their table tennis equipment – your support means a lot!
In theory lessons, students have looked at various forms of disabilities and their impact on sports, and have studied a range of Paralympic sports by looking at famous Australian Paralympians such as Kurt Fearnley.
Exciting news! Next Wednesday, DHS will welcome Wheelchair Rugby Australia for special clinics with our Stage 5 students as part of our Wellbeing Wednesday initiative. Keep your eyes peeled as we can't wait for this incredible experience!

Congratulations to Year 8 student, Eliza Newman, on her first place in the Edward River Library Poetry Competition. She received a voucher from the Deniliquin Newsagency. Max Worker, Ethan Woodcock and Nathaniel Willmott were also award recipients.

A huge congratulations to our Year 12 students who have completed their HSC Study Sessions for Mathematics Standard and Mathematics Advanced with Stuart Palmer from PD4MATHS!
It has been fantastic to see the commitment, perseverance, and focus you have shown as you prepare for your HSC. Keep practising, keep asking questions, and keep pushing towards your goals!
