The studios are full of music again, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome all of our amazing students and families back for another fantastic term at Forte Dee Why!

Whether you're joining us for your very first lesson or returning to continue your musical journey, we're looking forward to another term filled with learning, laughter, confidence, and plenty of music-making. 🎹🥁🎸🎤🎻

Sometimes it's hard to notice progress when you're learning week by week...

Until you look back. 💛

This video is the perfect reminder of just how much can change with consistency, encouragement, and a love of music.

The first clip is Luke performing for our Forte Factor last year. The second is his recent recital performance.

What a difference a year makes! ✨

Luke has worked incredibly hard, arriving at lessons ready to learn, taking on feedback, and continuing to challenge himself each week.

It's been so rewarding to watch not only his piano skills grow, but also his confidence and musical expression.

We're so proud of how far he's come and can't wait to see what he achieves next. 💛

Our recital is this Saturday 🎹✨

For many parents, it can feel like a big moment, and for students too. But recitals aren’t about perfection.

They’re about growth, courage, and celebrating progress 💛

Performing gives students the chance to:

Build confidence
Learn focus and preparation
Experience achievement
And feel proud of what they’ve been working on all term 🎶

We always say, it’s not about being the best performer in the room. It’s about being brave enough to step up and share your music.

We’re so proud of every student taking part this weekend, and we can’t wait to celebrate them on stage 🎹✨

Weekly catch up with Mr Paul 🎶

At Forte, we’re really intentional with how lessons are structured because we only have 45 minutes with each group, and we want to make every single minute count 💛

That means lessons are planned in advance, with a clear structure and curriculum so students are always engaged, always learning, and never left wondering what to do next.

There’s no downtime in class, we move straight from one activity to the next, building skills, confidence, and understanding step by step 🎹

For our older students, lessons can also include a mix of classical pieces, pop songs, and more flexible learning moments, but always with a clear purpose and direction behind it.

It’s all about creating lessons that are focused, fun, and effective, where students stay engaged and keep progressing every week 🎶✨

Our Music is Fun classes are already up to Lesson 12 🎶

This week we’re exploring the note Mi… which means we get to visit our cheeky friend Mick the Monkey 🐒

We use Solfège (Do, Re, Mi…) to help children understand music in a really natural, hands-on way.

Instead of just memorising notes, they learn how sounds relate to each other... building strong listening skills, confidence, and a deeper musical understanding from the very beginning.

Plus… it makes learning fun, playful, and full of imagination ✨

Say hello to Isaac 👋🎸

We’re excited to welcome back Isaac to our teaching team on Saturdays.

Isaac teaches Acoustic Guitar and Electric Guitar, and brings a strong musical background including Grade 5 Music Theory, Grade 5 Piano (ABRSM), Grade 6 Guitar (Rockschool), and he is currently working towards his Grade 8 Guitar (Rockschool).

He draws inspiration from artists like Tommy Emmanuel, Tim Henson, and John Mayer, and has a real passion for helping students grow in confidence while learning the songs they love.

Isaac believes music is best shared, one of his proudest moments has been performing alongside his own guitar students in front of a live audience.

You’ll now find Isaac in the studio on Saturdays (all day), ready to support students at every stage of their guitar journey.

We’re looking forward to having him back as part of the Forte community 🎶

What a voice!! 🎤✨

We’ve loved watching Penny’s musical journey over the past year 💛

She’s been having singing lessons with our teacher Daisy for over a year now, and from the very beginning she’s always shown up prepared, focused, and ready to learn.

Over time, something really special has happened..not just improvement in technique, but real confidence, expression, and ownership of her voice.

This performance of Somewhere Only We Know is a beautiful example of that. She hasn’t just learned the song… she’s truly made it her own 🎶✨

Moments like this are why we do what we do, seeing students grow week by week, build confidence, and step into performances feeling proud of what they can do 💛

We’re so proud of the consistency, effort, and progress she’s shown. It really does add up over time

We’re very excited to welcome Josephine Roumanoff to our teaching team, joining us on Saturday afternoons as our new violin teacher 🎻

Josephine is a talented and passionate musician currently beginning her Bachelor of Music at the Conservatorium University. She completed a double major in voice and violin during high school at Conservatorium High School and has extensive ensemble and performance experience across orchestras, chamber groups, and school productions.

She holds AMEB qualifications including Honours in Grade 8 Violin, Grade 5 Horn, and Grade 4 Music Theory. Josephine brings a thoughtful and encouraging teaching style, with a real love for helping students grow in confidence and musical expression.

We’re thrilled to have her on board and know our violin students will really enjoy learning with her!
