Can you take on feedback, especially when it’s something you don’t want to hear?
Most of us want to grow, change and create better results in our lives.
But before we can change what isn’t working, we have to be willing to SEE what isn’t working.
And sometimes that means hearing uncomfortable feedback.
In this episode of the Life Actually, we talk about the difference between criticism and constructive feedback, why feedback can trigger shame, defensiveness or anger, and how learning to receive it can become one of your greatest tools for personal growth.
Because feedback doesn’t automatically mean:
“You’re a bad person.”
“You’ve failed.”
“There’s something wrong with you.”
Sometimes it simply means:
There’s a pattern, behaviour or limitation here that you now have an opportunity to work on.
We also explore why perfectionism can make feedback especially difficult, how to consider WHO the feedback is coming from, and why you can still look for something useful even when feedback isn’t delivered perfectly.
The goal isn’t to become the perfect version of yourself.
It’s to keep becoming a better version of yourself.
This is the kind of work we do regularly inside the Wellness Breakthrough Academy, helping people recognise what may be sitting underneath their behaviours, take responsibility for what they can change, and develop practical ways to move forward.
