🌻 Happy Early Childhood Educators’ Day! 🌻

Today is all about celebrating the people who get to spend their days watching little minds grow and little personalities shine. 🥰

There are so many moments in this job that make it worthwhile — the smiles when they arrive, the excitement when they discover something new, the proud little “I did it!” moments, the cuddles, the laughter, and all the memories made along the way. 💛

It’s not always easy, but it’s definitely special. Being trusted to play such an important role in a child’s early years is something I’m very grateful for.

Thank you to my beautiful families for trusting me with your children and for allowing me to do what I love each day. 🌸

Happy Educators’ Day to all the incredible educators who show up, care deeply, and make a difference in so many little lives. 🫶🏼

📚🐻 Book Week Day 4 — We’re Going on a Bear Hunt!

A little bear hunt setup! 🐻🔎

Coloured bears hidden amongst shredded paper, waiting to be discovered and sorted into their matching coloured cups. 🌈

A fun sensory experience inspired by one of our favourite stories, with plenty of opportunities for searching, matching, and colour recognition. ❤️💛💚💙

🐛🍎 Day 3 of Book Week – The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Today’s activity was inspired by one of our favourite Book Week stories, The Very Hungry Caterpillar! 📚🐛

The children can feed the caterpillar colourful pom-poms, helping him fill his hungry tummy while exploring colour recognition and counting along the way. 🌈🔢

A simple, hands-on activity that combines storytelling, early maths, and fine motor skills through play. 💚

Today we stepped into the world of Bluey: Shadowlands! 📚✨
After reading the story, we engaged in a Bluey-inspired play setup, exploring the theme through imaginative play and hands-on experiences. 🐶🌿

🐑💚 Day 1 of Book Week – Where Is the Green Sheep?

🌸💧 Today we made our very own paper flowers and watched the magic happen as they slowly bloomed in water! Made predictions, observed closely and amazed to see the petals open. A simple experiment full of curiosity, discovery, and hands-on learning! 🔬✨

🌶️🫧 Science Week – Pepper & Soap Experiment
Today, our little scientists explored what happens when pepper, water, and dishwashing liquid come together! 🔬✨

We sprinkled pepper across the water before dipping a cotton bud into the dishwashing liquid and touching the surface. The pepper quickly moved away from the cotton bud! 👀🫧

After our experiment, we talked about germs and why washing our hands with soap is so important. 🧼👐 We connected our science experiment to everyday life and explored how soap helps keep our hands clean.
A fun, hands-on experience filled with curiosity, discovery, and learning! 💛

🔬✨ Science Week at Chevvy’s Family Daycare

Today our little scientists got stuck into Science Week with four fun, hands-on experiments! 🧪💛

🌈 Skittles Experiment – Watching the colourful Skittles create a beautiful rainbow as the colours spread.

🥛 Dancing Milk – Exploring colours, movement and reactions as our milk “danced”! 💃🌈

🌋 Mini Volcano Eruption – Making our very own volcano erupt and watching the excitement unfold! 🤩

🌊 Sink or Float – Making predictions and testing different objects to discover what would sink and what would float.

So many opportunities today to explore curiosity, observation, prediction and cause and effect through play! 🔍✨

Day 1 of our science fun! 🔬✨

We started with fizzy ice cubes 🧊💥 and watched them bubble, fizz and slowly melt away. Then we tried our disappearing rainbow 🌈 — dipping it into water and watching the colours magically disappear!

So much excitement, curiosity and “WOW, how did that happen?!” 😍

Who says science has to be complicated? Sometimes the best learning happens through a little bit of fizz, colour and messy hands! 🥰
