🏐 YEAR 8 VOLLEYBALL | EUREKA DIVISION 🏐
Last week, our Year 8 students competed in the Eureka Division Volleyball Tournament, showcasing skill, determination and fantastic sportsmanship throughout the day. 👏

Through teamwork and communication, both the boys A team and girls team managed to secure places into the grand final where both teams were able to win through to the GWR region.

A huge thank you to Colin Priest and the Daylesford Volleyball Association for their incredible support in preparing our teams and assisting on competition day.

Well done to all our Year 8 students who represented the College.
We look forward to the Year 7 Volleyball Tournament next week!

ABC OF ESPRESSO MAKING

After starting 'DC Coffee Club' earlier this year, the VM Events class headed to the to sharpen their skills thanks to a grant through the Department of Education.

Throughout the course, students learnt about espresso extraction and milk texturing, before having a go and creating different coffee varieties. Some students were able to perfect their latte art, while others made a coffee for the first time. ☕

MODEL UNITED NATIONS SIMULATION

Last week, some of our Year 12 Italian students took part in a Model UN session in Italian language discussing and debating a draft resolution on the topic Planet Ocean: Protecting the world's oceans, seas and marine resources. Our students were the delegates of Greece and all three students spoke to presented Greece's position on the topic and argued for and against changes to the draft resolution. It was a wonderful immersive experience using the language of diplomacy and a chance to work together and students from other schools. They did themselves and the school proud.

10 WORK EXPERIENCE

Three of our year 10 students enjoying work exerience at the end of last term.

Firstly, having a great time at St Augustine's Parish Primary School in Creswick - spending the morning with the Preps and the remainder of the days with other year levels and specialists.

Secondly, at The Mower shop/ Tyre Power - "He was loving it! When I was there he did an oil and filter change and was working on rotating the wheels." Ms Hogan told us.

Lastly, enjoying time in the trade industry of building our student experienced helping out on the worksite on an extension. This included hammering, helping pass equipment to the other builders and shovelling.
