Our little Barefooters have been deep in their exploration of the world of birds. After discovering a plover nest in our front yard, and a noisy minor nest in our car park the concept of making nests has been a strong focus for the children. Intertwining the world of birds with developing social skills, exploring family dynamics, and using natural and man-made materials to create.

Our Kindergarten have been deep in exploring Wildlife, which has turned into exploration of Australian Habitats. The children were painting and drawing animals, then they wanted to make habitats, and before we know it the children had created rich and meaningful documentation.
Then, a 5 year old asked “but… can we make them into puppets with sticks?” And a whole new world of play, imagination and social discovery emerged.

The children have been working with our art teacher over the last months to create lanterns. Inspired by some local decorations, the children gathered leaves, decorated the paper with them, glued them together, added bases and handles, and created beautiful decorative lanterns to take home. So much fun 🍃
