An element of PBL (Positive Behaviour for Learning) is celebrating the positive behaviours and values we want to see across our school. ‘Gotchas’ are one of the ways we do that as part of our PBL here at Dayboro. Gotchas help to make good choices visible, and each Gotcha goes into the draw from the prize box at Assembly for 6 lucky students each week.
This term, the House Spirit Cup, proudly sponsored by Dayboro Rodeo and PEK Electrical, was introduced, adding a second layer to our Gotchas, with 1 Gotcha earning 1 House Spirit Point. This means whilst the Gotcha still provides opportunity for personal gain, it also contributes to a ‘greater good’, supporting fellow team mates to strive together to win the House Spirit Cup.
Each term, the winning house wins a Zooper Dooper celebration, and the overall winning House will be engraved on the House Spirit Cup at the end of the year.
This term, Terrors were the very first term winners, and last Tuesday our Sports Captains and Vice Captains became Zooper Dooper servers from the Tuckerbox, serving the students from Terrors house to celebrate their team work and contribution to excellence across our wonderful school.

Yr 4 creativity and collaboration today with the BEST learning activity. Design STEM challenge : Design and construct a spaghetti crane. Also a huge goodbye and thank you to Mrs Mills who will be on leave for Term 4. 💙💛💙💛💙💛

Last day… fun day! Pyjama Day is the best way to finish Term 3. Thank you to all our students for your gold coin donations.

3P have been learning the “art” of persuasion and were tasked to write and speak a persuasive piece for their peers. They had to convince their classmates to try their favourite activities - lots of great activities on offer and lots of persuading going on. Baking, bull riding, gaming, roller skating and Lego. 😀

We have just completed an Evacuation drill. Well done to our Students and Staff for following evacuation routes and procedures!!!

Dayboro community spirit at its best… our students singing and spreading joy at the Conversation Club and our lovely community of church ladies and elderly residents sharing treats, stories and songs with our students. We are blessed in our community to have such support. Thank you Chappy Hannah and our choir and of course Conversation Club.

💛 R U OK? Day – A Conversation Can Change a Life 💛

Today at Dayboro State School, we recognise R U OK? Day – an important reminder that checking in with those around us can make a real difference.

Sometimes, a simple “Are you OK?” is all it takes to let someone know that we care, we’re listening and they’re not alone. 💛

We encourage our students, staff and families to look out for one another and remember the four simple steps:
