We are ALL IN all day, every day at Margaret Lohmeyer Kindy. 🖤💛❤️

June 3 marks two significant moments.

It is Mabo Day — the anniversary of the 1992 High Court decision that recognised the land rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, overturning the legal fiction of terra nullius.

And it is the final day of Reconciliation Week 2026.

But here is what we ask of you today: Don't let this be the full stop.

Reconciliation Week is a starting point. Not a destination.

The educators, services, and workplaces that make real difference come back on June 4, and keep going.

Update your environment. Keep the resources out. Have the conversations next week too.

Be All In — not just for 8 days. For the whole year.

Today is National Sorry Day.

On this day each year, we reflect on the immeasurable harm done by the forced removal of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from their families and communities, which we now refer to as the Stolen Generations.

We acknowledge the strength and resilience of Stolen Generations survivors, their families and communities, and recommit to playing our part in the process of healing and reconciliation.

🌷Mother's Day Raffle 2026🌼

This weekend Kelly has been caterpillar sitting 🐛🐛🐛🐛🐛 monarch caterpillars ready for the children to observe next week. However, today they have been VERY busy and now there is only 🐛 caterpillar left!

Luckily, Kelly was able to capture the miracle of metamorphosis on film!

🌏Safer Internet Day🌎

It's never too early to start talking about online safety!
Today is Safer Internet Day. To support children's strong sense of wellbeing and being aware and developing strategies to support their own personal safety, today at kindy we read the picture book developed by the eSafety Commissioner, "Swoosh, Glide and Rule Number 5".

At kindy we only have 3 rules, so the children were intrigued to learn what rule 4 & 5 were. We talked about having different rules for different places. Do you have some family rules in place about safe use of technology and access to the internet at your house? If not, now is a great time to start having the conversation.
