Congratulations to Ethan Egart on completing his Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration with his employer, J&S NT PTY LTD!

Ethan started his apprenticeship in 2023 at the age of 19, after working as a public servant at Royal Darwin Hospital.

He decided to pursue an apprenticeship because he didn’t enjoy working in a desk job. He wanted a long-term career where he could grow both personally and professionally, while working with his hands. Having always enjoyed being outdoors and hands-on work, a career in the trades was the perfect fit.

In 2025, a business restructure created a fork in the road for Ethan, with a decision that could have significantly changed his path. Ethan is grateful for the opportunity J&S NT provided him to continue developing into the tradesman he wanted to become. He is also thankful to Jacob for being a role model and showing him the type of tradesman he hopes to be.

One of the most rewarding parts of his apprenticeship with J&S NT has been the opportunity to travel and see more of the country through community and bush work.

When asked what message he had for anyone considering an apprenticeship, Ethan kept it simple: β€œWho doesn’t want to get paid while they train?” πŸ™Œ

Now qualified, Ethan is looking forward to continuing to grow in his career. He wants to become someone people can rely on for help and guidance, while supporting and mentoring the new apprentice at work.

Congratulations, Ethan! We wish you all the best for the next chapter of your career. ✨

Congratulations to Isadora Lorenzo, who successfully completed her Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety with Programmed Darwin and host business Santos! πŸ₯³

Isadora started her traineeship offshore on an oil rig, working in a heavily male-dominated environment on a 3:3 roster.

Reflecting on her experience, Isadora said, β€œIt was daunting at first. I came from the Tiwi Islands to Darwin for the traineeship and then went out onto an oil rig where I didn’t know anyone. But it didn’t take long before I got to know people out there, and some of the workers would even bring me chocolates from the countries they were from, like New Zealand and Russia.” ✨

Isadora thoroughly enjoyed her time at Santos, so when the opportunity came up to continue her training through a Diploma of Work Health and Safety, delivered by Programmed and Santos through the Saltwater Pathways Program, she was excited to take the next step.

The Saltwater Pathways Program aims to support the Barossa Aboriginal Future Funds purpose of contributing positively to NT Aboriginal coastal communities with a geographical connection to the Santos Barossa Operations.

Congratulations on completing your traineeship, Isadora, and on taking the next step in your career! πŸ’₯
