🇦🇺 NT Migration Update | 2026–27
The Northern Territory has received 1,850 nomination places for the 2026–27 program year:

🔹 850 places – Subclass 190
🔹 1,000 places – Subclass 491

The latest update highlights the NT Government’s increasing focus on applicants who demonstrate genuine employment, strong alignment with Territory skills needs, and a clear commitment to building a long-term future in the NT.

For onshore applicants, priority consideration will continue where relevant.

🚨 NORTHERN TERRITORY 190 & 491 MIGRATION UPDATE 🇦🇺

Planning to apply for NT nomination for Subclass 190 or 491? Here are the key points you need to know 👇

⚠️ 2025–26 NT Allocation Exhausted
The NT’s 2025–26 General Skilled Migration nomination allocation has been fully exhausted. Applications already submitted will remain in the queue. New applicants should prepare for the 2026–27 MigrationNT program.

🏠 Subclass 190 – NT Residents
Generally, applicants may need:
✅ Around 2 years of continuous NT residence
✅ Around 2 years of full-time skilled employment in the nominated or closely related occupation
✅ Ongoing employment prospects

🎓 NT Graduates – 190 Pathway
Completed at least 2 academic years / 4 semesters of full-time NT study? You may be considered under the NT Graduate pathway. Employment, a job offer, or genuine progress towards relevant skilled employment can be important for nomination and priority.

📍 Subclass 491 – NT Residents
Generally, applicants may need:
✅ At least 12 consecutive months living in the NT
✅ At least 6 consecutive months of relevant full-time employment
✅ Ongoing employment prospects

🎓 NT Graduates – 491 Pathway
NT graduates who have completed at least 2 years of full-time study may be considered and should demonstrate genuine efforts and progress towards securing employment in their nominated or related skilled occupation.

🌏 Offshore Applicants
The NT Offshore Migration Occupation List (NTOMOL) is particularly relevant to the offshore Priority Occupation pathway. Being on the occupation list does not automatically guarantee nomination.

🆚 190 or 491?
