🏓 Table Tennis Triumph for Beina! 🏆

Congratulations to Year 7 student Beina Liu on an outstanding season of table tennis!

Beina's hard work and dedication have delivered some fantastic results, including finishing as the Under 15 Junior Singles Runner-up, winning the C Grade Singles Championship, and captaining her team to the C Grade Team Championship.

These achievements are a testament to Beina's commitment to continual improvement and her passion for the sport. We are incredibly proud of all she has accomplished and look forward to seeing her continued success both on and off the table.

🥉 Congratulations, Logan! 🥉

A huge congratulations to Logan on his outstanding achievement at the Australian Jiu Jitsu Championship held in Melbourne from 14-16 August.

Competing against some of the country's best young athletes, Logan took to the mat in the 7 and under age group, under 33.2kg division, earning an impressive bronze medal. With 3,000 competitors and 10,000 spectators attending the championship across three days, this is a fantastic accomplishment.

We are incredibly proud of Logan's dedication, perseverance and sporting success. Well done, Logan! 👏💜

🌺 Learning, celebrating and coming together for NAIDOC Week at HRS

NAIDOC Week at HRS has been a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn about, recognise and celebrate the achievements, histories and cultures of First Nations peoples.

Across our classrooms, students have taken part in activities exploring the meaning and significance of NAIDOC Week, building their understanding and appreciation of First Nations cultures and contributions.

Our wider school community also came together to celebrate, with lively lunchtime dodgeball games, delicious cupcakes made by our Ochre students, and Floral Friday 🌺

Floral Friday is a Torres Strait Island and Cape York tradition, where people wear colourful floral fabrics to foster inclusivity and celebrate the vibrant cultures of the Torres Strait Islands.

🏉 Staff vs Students Footy Showdown! 🏉

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in this year’s Staff vs Students Footy Game, and to everyone who came along to show their support!

The game was played in true Clontarf spirit, with plenty of smiles, laughs and great sportsmanship from both staff and students. It was fantastic to see such an impressive staff turnout, including our Principal as the coach, demonstrating the growing support for Clontarf at HRS.

While the students walked away with the bragging rights after a very close contest, there was one clear winner - HRS!

Well done to everyone involved and thank you for making it such a fantastic event! 👏

🌿 NAIDOC Festival in Boarding 🌿

What a wonderful evening in Boarding on Monday as our HRS community came together to celebrate NAIDOC Week!

The NAIDOC Festival was filled with delicious food, music, dancing, art and plenty of community spirit. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students, staff and families to come together, share in culture and celebrate the rich contributions and achievements of First Nations peoples.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the evening so special. We are incredibly proud to celebrate NAIDOC Week together as a school community! 🌟

🧪🔬 Science Week at HRS was packed with hands-on excitement!

Our students got stuck into some incredible experiments, creating hot crystals from sodium acetate, watching the explosive fun of an elephant’s toothpaste demonstration, and exploring a fascinating colour-changing reaction that transformed with every shake.

To top off the week, our Houses went head-to-head in a lunchtime Science Quiz, putting their scientific knowledge to the test and showcasing their science prowess.

What a fantastic week of curiosity, discovery and friendly competition! 💡⚗️👏

Last Friday, our Middle and Senior School students took on Cross Country at the beautiful East Point! It was fantastic to see our students demonstrating determination, resilience and school spirit as they tackled the 2.5 km and 5 km courses.

🐾 Making a Difference at the RSPCA 🐾

Last week, our PDS Year 11 students visited the RSPCA in Berrimah, where they had the opportunity to learn more about the important work being done to care for animals in our community.

The students were proud to deliver donations collected from our school community, knowing their contribution would help support animals in need. During the visit, they were given a tour of the facility, met some of the cats and dogs, and learnt about the challenges faced by abandoned and surrendered animals.

A big thank you to the RSPCA team for welcoming our students, sharing their knowledge and for the incredible work they do every day. We are proud of our students for showing compassion and demonstrating the importance of giving back. ❤️🐶🐱

What a special moment for our community.

On Monday, we were honoured to welcome representatives from Cumberland City Council and Merrylands RSL as they officially unveiled the new plaque dedicated to Gunner Wilbert "Darky" Thomas Hudson MM.

Darky’s bravery during the Bombing of Darwin on 19 February 1942 has become part of Australian military legend. When air raid sirens sounded as Japanese forces attacked Darwin, Darky ran from the shower to his gun position, armed only with his boots, hat, and a towel. In the chaos of battle, he helped defend Australia and was later awarded the Military Medal for bravery and courage against the enemy on Australian soil.

A memorial honouring Darky now stands at Haileybury Rendall School, close to the site where these historic events occurred, ensuring his extraordinary story continues to inspire future generations. His courage, service, and sense of humour remain an important part of our community's connection to Darwin's wartime history.

A huge congratulations to Macey, Tara, Chloe, Isla and Zachary, who represented the NT 13–19 Years Swim Team at the School Sport Australia Games in Melbourne from 26–30 July!

The team achieved fantastic results, with multiple personal bests and incredible camaraderie and support throughout the competition. What a rewarding and memorable experience! 👏

A special congratulations to Macey, who had an outstanding competition, securing 🥇 1 Gold, 🥈 2 Silver and 🥉 1 Bronze medal!

We are incredibly proud of all five students for representing the Northern Territory and HRS with such determination, sportsmanship and team spirit.
