The last few days of the 2026 HRS China Trip were an incredible highlight for our HRS students as they travelled to Haileybury Tianjin, connecting with their Tianjin friends and enjoying two wonderful days experiencing life as a student on campus. It was fantastic to see new friendships grow and our students embrace the opportunity to be part of the Haileybury community in Tianjin.

The adventure then continued in Beijing, where students immersed themselves in the vibrant local culture - exploring bustling markets, enjoying delicious food, taking in a spectacular show and discovering the sights and sounds of this incredible city.

And, of course, there was the Great Wall of China! A truly unforgettable experience and a definite highlight of the trip.

A phenomenal trip filled with friendship, cultural discovery, adventure and memories that will last a lifetime. A HUGE thank you to all the staff involved!

🌟 Welcome back to Term 4! 🌟

It was wonderful to welcome our students and staff back to Haileybury Rendall School yesterday for another exciting term!

Term 4 is always a special time in our school year, with students embracing new challenges, making the most of every opportunity and finishing the year strongly.

For our Year 12 students, this term marks the final chapter of their schooling journey, as they prepare to undertake their final exams. We wish each of them every success over the coming weeks as they put the finishing touches on their studies and prepare to take this important next step in their journey. We are incredibly proud of how far they have come and look forward to celebrating their achievements with them. 🎓

We are looking forward to welcoming all our students back to Haileybury Rendall School on Monday, 5 October, as we begin another exciting term of learning experiences and opportunities.

A friendly reminder to families that school bus services will not operate on Monday, 5 October. This is due to Northern Territory Government schools having a student-free day, and the bus service follows the NT Government school calendar.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause our HRS families, particularly those who rely on our bus services, and thank you for your understanding and patience.

Bus services will resume as normal on Tuesday, 6 October.

For families requiring a little extra time with afternoon pick-up on Monday, HRS Library Homework Help will be available until 5.30 pm for students in Years 5–12.

We can’t wait to see everyone back at school on Monday!

What an incredible way to finish our Year 6 Canberra adventure!

Our Year 6 students packed plenty into their final few days, with a visit to Parliament House, where they had the opportunity to explore the heart of Australian democracy and build on their learning beyond the classroom.

There was also plenty of fun and laughter with bowling 🎳 and Treetop swinging 🌳, giving students the chance to challenge themselves, enjoy some friendly competition and make even more memories together.

To finish off an already amazing trip, the students made a special stop at Taronga Zoo in Sydney, before making their way home to Darwin.

We’re sure our Year 6 students will return home with plenty of stories to share.

Digital Futures 2026 🚀💻

Senior School students from Year 10 Digital Technology and Units 3 & 4 Applied Computing recently attended Digital Futures 2026, where they explored emerging technologies and future career pathways in the digital sector.

Students had the opportunity to engage with a range of interactive exhibits hosted by Northern Lights Interactive Experience: Future Minds, The Array and CDU Radical Centre, gaining hands-on experience with innovative technologies and digital solutions.

The event also featured inspiring guest speakers who shared insights on entrepreneurship, AI governance, innovation and leadership, encouraging students to think critically about the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of technology.

A valuable and engaging experience for our aspiring digital innovators.

🏕️ Year 9 Outdoor Education Camp 🛶

Our Year 9 students have wrapped up their Outdoor Education program at the spectacular Lake Argyle.

Across three weeks, Year 9 students spent six days kayaking and canoeing to remote campsites, fishing for dinner, cooking over the fire, swimming and even taking the leap off Jump Rock! 🌅🔥

Beyond the adventure, students built confidence, resilience and leadership skills while strengthening friendships through teamwork and shared experiences.

A huge thank you to our dedicated Outdoor Education staff for making this such a memorable and meaningful experience. What an incredible way to finish the Haileybury Outdoor Education progression! 👏

🎶 Junior School House Singing! 🎶

What a fantastic way to finish Term 3! Our Junior School students brought incredible enthusiasm, energy and school spirit to House Singing last Friday. 🏠🎤

Each House gave it their all, creating an afternoon filled with music, smiles and plenty of HRS pride. A huge congratulations to all our students for their wonderful performances and to our staff and House leaders for helping bring it all together.

Our Year 6 students are making the most of their Canberra adventure, with an incredible mix of learning, culture, history and plenty of fun along the way!
So far, students have:

🏛️ Explored Parliament House
⛰️ Taken in the views from Mt Ainslie
🗳️ Learned about democracy and voting at the Electoral Education Centre at Old Parliament House
🌸 Enjoyed the sights and colours of Floriade
🔬 Got hands-on at Questacon
📜 Discovered our nation’s history at the National Archives
🏎️ Put their skills to the test at Power Kart Racing
🏅 Visited the Australian Institute of Sport
🏛️ Explored the Exhibition Centre

It has already been an action-packed trip filled with new experiences, curiosity, learning and plenty of memorable moments. We can't wait to see what the rest of the Canberra adventure brings!

The China Study Tour is off to an amazing start! Students have enjoyed a fantastic cultural experience in Guangzhou, including a river cruise, Canton Tower and delicious local cuisine. They also loved spending time with their buddies at Sanshui Foreign Language School. The tour then continued to Xi’an, where students explored the incredible Terracotta Warriors. We can’t wait to see what the next few days bring!
