🐄🐑 Farm Animal Sensory Play! 🐖🐓

Our toddler classrooms have been exploring farm animals through engaging sensory trays! The children enjoyed using their senses to explore different textures, materials and farm animal figures while creating their own little farm environments.

This experience supported sensory exploration, fine motor development, language and communication, imaginative play and opportunities to learn about different farm animals and their environments. 🌾🐴✨

🍳👩‍🍳 Building Our Culinary Skills! 👨‍🍳🥣

As part of our School Holiday Program, we’ve had a big focus on developing our culinary skills! Across the centre, children have been engaging in hands-on cooking experiences, exploring ingredients, following recipes and creating delicious treats.

Cooking provides opportunities to develop fine motor skills through mixing, pouring and preparing ingredients, while also supporting mathematical skills through measuring, counting and exploring quantities. Children are also building communication, teamwork, problem-solving and independence as they work together and take pride in their creations. 🥕🍪✨

We’ve loved watching our little chefs learn, create and have fun in the kitchen! ❤️

🌿 September Learning & Development Meeting 🌿

Our September Learning & Development meeting brought our team together to reflect on how we can continue to support children and families throughout their journey with us.

We focused on orientations for new families, exploring ways to create welcoming experiences and build strong relationships from the very beginning. We also discussed supporting children as they transition into new classrooms, ensuring these changes are positive, familiar and responsive to each child’s needs. 💛

We also explored the benefits of loose parts play, and how thoughtfully prepared environments can encourage creativity, imagination, problem-solving, collaboration and child-led learning. 🪵🌿✨
