Top End Early Learning Centre TEELC

We are very happy to advise that Candace and Camelle have given birth, both have very healthy little boys, we congratulate them and their husbands.
The photography and filming at the Centre has now been completed, thank you to the staff for the great effort yesterday, it really is hard work being film stars and the support of the other staff who backed up when required.
Thank you to the parents who became instant film stars, and the children who are all stars, it has been a huge effort by all and one we can be proud of. The photos will be available next week on display if anyone would like copies.
Today was pyjama day, the Nursery staff enjoyed a day in their pyjamas and many children came wearing their "jamas".
We had a visit from the 3 googly eyed monsters today, who entertained the children, then enjoyed stories and a fine dining experience together for lunch (Paw Patrol pasta bake) which the after school care children polished off for afternoon tea.

Yesterday our favourite monkeys the Amazing Drumming Monkeys came to visit, we had so much fun then had warm Milo and pizzas under the trees.

It's that time of the year when we are able to have our fire day. There was great anticipation as the children collected firewood, the risks were explained to the children, and we lit our fire with a flint. It was a perfect picnic day with hot milo, sausage sizzle and marshmallows cooked on the fire.

20 years of service today at Top End Early Learning Centre, we congratulate you Sharon on this important milestone in your career. There are not to many people who can say that they have had the one employer for the past 2 decades, over the years you have cared for thousands of children, some are now married and have children of their own. The Centre recognises the valuable contribution you have made over the years, congratulations.

How lucky are we to have the opportunity to be outside in our beautiful grounds and involved in National Simultaneous Story time today. We had a special guest come and read Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller by Adam Jackson, Adrien Lloyd and Jake A Minton. Our special guest was Leesa a former staff member and one of Darwins top soccer players. After the story we had lunch under the trees. Thank you Leesa for coming to read the story to the children and to have you visit the Centre again, we do miss you and because of your previous years at the Centre and your great work ethics we will never forget you.

I signed up to Envirobank to collect all the water bottles and drink cans we have accumulated from the staff room. The children helped the staff take the lids off and put the containers into the bags. Envirobank came today and picked up our bags, we had close to 600 containers, the children watched as the men took them away, dreaming of what we are going to spend the close to $60 on. We are also very proud and thankful that Ruby and Rhys’s Mum and Dad collect all our kitchen scraps daily for their chickens, together with not using paper towels but choosing to wash cloth towels, we are proud of our Centre’s actions in protecting the environment.

Staff dinner tonight to celebrate many occasions- Sharon 20 years, Sherwin 10 years, Yen achieving her Diploma, Sunshine engagement, Candace maternity leave, birthdays Riva, Linda, Raj, Camelle.
