Today we held our World’s Greatest Shave event, and what an amazing day it was! 💛✂️

A huge shoutout to Starzia and Larissa from the team “Girls Gone Brave”, who both bravely shaved their hair to support this incredible cause and raise funds for blood cancer research. We couldn’t be prouder of their courage and generosity.

To make the moment even more special, Gracelin (Starzia’s sister) and dad did the honours of cutting Starzia’s hair, while Larissa’s children each had a turn cutting hers. It was such a special moment for everyone to witness.

After the main event, we also had some very brave children take part by having their hair cut by Pon for a $5 donation to the fundraiser.

Families also enjoyed some delicious homemade sweets made by Kelly and Starzia, available for a gold coin donation.

Thank you so much to all of our families for supporting this wonderful event and helping us raise funds for such an important cause. We are incredibly proud of our community for coming together today. 💛

If you would still like to donate, the QR code will remain displayed in the foyer, or you can donate online using the link below:

Every donation, big or small, makes a difference!

Welcome back to the new year!

Our care has officially reopened this week after the holiday break, and it has been so lovely welcoming our children and families back into our learning community.

Across all three rooms – Nursery, Toddlers and Preschool – our main focus this week has been self-identity and a sense of belonging. We have been supporting children to reconnect with their environment, their educators, and their peers, helping them feel safe, secure, and valued as they transition back into care.

One of my favourite experiences this week has been the mirror activities. Watching the children look at themselves, explore their reflections, and even draw themselves has been so special. These moments support children to recognise themselves as individuals, build confidence, and understand that they belong within their learning environment.

These experiences align with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), supporting children to develop a strong sense of identity and belonging (Outcome 1), build confidence and wellbeing (Outcome 3), and express themselves through conversation and creative play (Outcome 5).

A big thank you to Autumn and her family for the beautiful Christmas gifts 🎄💛
Her mum, Stevie, handmade these thoughtful treats for our educators, and they truly brightened our day.

We appreciate your kindness and the time and love that went into creating them. Thank you for making our team feel so valued! ✨🎁

Toddler Room Creativity!

Recently, our lead educator, Larissa, transformed the play space by flipping a table and wrapping the legs in cling wrap to create a vertical painting canvas! The toddlers were so engaged as they explored paint in a new and exciting way, expressing themselves, experimenting with movement, and building confidence through hands-on play.

A beautifully creative learning experience for our curious little artists!

Nursery Flashback

Throwing it back to our November 19 nursery dance crew - tiny feet, big energy and moves that absolutely melted us!

Our little ones were vibing, giggling and showing off all their growing confidence.
We love seeing their personalities burst through as they bop, bounce and explore the world around them.

These playful moments help them connect with others, feel safe in their environment and enjoy learning in the sweetest way.

🌟 WE ARE OPEN TOMORROW! 🌟

Our service is safe, there are only a few branches and leaves need tidying.

⚠️ A clip on the shade sail in preschool snapped, but this is an easy fix. The shade has been temporarily taken down until the new clip is installed.

We look forward to seeing everyone!

With Cyclone Fina approaching, we hope everyone is staying safe.
We certainly weren’t expecting it to intensify to a Category 3. Our thoughts are with everyone preparing for the impact, and especially with the volunteers and emergency service workers who are working tirelessly to keep our community safe 💛

Please take care and follow all official advice.

The Kentish Early Learning Centre Moulden Team.

Severe Tropical Cyclone Fina, category 3, is close to the south coast of Melville Island.

Satellite imagery shows Fina continues to intensify. Based on Fina's forecast west-south-west track, the very destructive core will pass just north of Darwin this evening.
