Bakewell Primary School Bakewell is the largest primary school in the Northern Territory, with approximately 750 students ranging from Preschool to Year 6.

We take great pride in being the ‘School of Choice’ for families residing within our priority enrolment area of Bakewell and Gunn.

🎶 NT Music School Demonstration 🎻🎸

Today, students currently enrolled in violin and guitar lessons showcased their musical talents by performing for our Year 3-5 students as part of an NT Music School demonstration session.

It was a wonderful opportunity for students to learn more about the instrumental music programs available and be inspired to explore their own musical interests!

📖Learning Lowdown📖

It has been lovely to see the Group 3 children settle back into the Preschool routine and rekindle friendships from last term.

We have provided activities encouraging the children to work collaboratively with each other, to take turns, to communicate with each other remembering to take turns to listen to others and to speak and to problem-solve together.

EYLF Outcome 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world.
Children develop a sense of belonging to groups and communities.
Children learn to cooperate, work together and share responsibility.
Children learn to negotiate, collaborate and contribute to group experiences.

EYLF Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators
Children learn to share ideas, listen to others and communicate their thoughts.
Children use language to negotiate roles, solve problems and work together during play.

🌟 World Teachers’ Day Finalists 🌟

We are incredibly proud to share that we have two staff members who have been named finalists in the World Teachers’ Day – NT Excellence Awards 2026.

Leader in Education of the Year – Lucy Ewin
Mrs Ewin began her journey at Bakewell as a teacher before moving into the role of Assistant Principal, where she has supported school improvement and made a positive impact across our school. Her kind and thoughtful nature shines through in her interactions with students, staff and families, helping build strong relationships and a positive school community.

Early Childhood Educator of the Year – Mary Boeck
Mrs Boeck joined Bakewell this year, bringing over a decade of experience in Preschool and a passion for helping children develop the skills they need to enter primary school ready to learn. Through engaging learning experiences, she nurtures children’s confidence, independence and curiosity, laying strong foundations for their learning journey.

Please join us in congratulating Mrs Ewin and Mrs Boeck on this outstanding achievement and wishing them the very best at the awards! 👏
