WHO WILL YOU CHOOSE TO SLIME?

Today is your last chance to be part of our Slime Time event!

We will finalise the list at 12:00pm today. Students who have raised $100 or more will get to choose one of our four teachers to slime after lunch.

A huge thank you to all of our families for your fundraising efforts. Every dollar raised helps support our school and our students.

Remember, every child who raises $10 or more will receive a prize. Our fundraising page will remain open during the holidays, so there is still time to donate and help us reach our goal.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE PART OF SPORTS DAY?

What a fantastic day we had at our 2026 Sports Day!

Students gave their personal best, cheered on their teammates and demonstrated excellent sportsmanship throughout the day. It was wonderful to see students encouraging one another, celebrating success and showing resilience in every event.

Congratulations to Sharks for taking out the Overall Champion title with a final score of 1373 points. A huge congratulations also to Crocs who finished a very close second with 1343 points. What an incredible effort by both teams!

Thank you to our staff and Henbury School student volunteers who helped make the day such a success. To our families, your encouragement and support helped create a positive and memorable day for our students.

We captured lots of great moments throughout the day and will be sharing more photos over the coming week. Stay tuned!

WHAT DOES GREAT SPORTSMANSHIP LOOK LIKE?

Families,

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to our Sports Day tomorrow and celebrating a great day of participation, teamwork and fun.

A reminder that all visitors on school grounds are expected to follow the NT Education and Training's Respect and Responsibility in Schools expectations. Please take a moment to read the attached information.

One of our biggest focuses in primary school sport is sportsmanship. While winning is exciting, learning how to encourage others, show respect, celebrate effort and respond positively are far more important skills for our children to develop.

Ms Niki will be running a BBQ throughout the day and the Henbury School coffee van will also be on site in the morning.

Thank you for helping us create a positive and supportive day for all students.

WHAT ARE OUR YEAR 3.4 STUDENTS BEEN LEARNING AFTER SCHOOL?

A group of our Year 3.4 students are taking part in after school sport at Marrara Judo Club until the end of term, developing new skills in judo while building confidence, coordination, persistence and collaboration.

Students are enjoying learning different techniques, practising self discipline and challenging themselves in a supportive environment. It has been fantastic to see their enthusiasm and willingness to give new things a go.

A big thank you to Marrara Judo for supporting our students and to the Australian Government Sporting Schools program for funding this opportunity for our students.

WHAT CHALLENGES CAN YOU COMPLETE IN JAPANESE?

Some of our Year 6 students had a fantastic time attending Japanese Survivor Day at the Darwin Languages Centre. Students worked together to complete a range of fun and challenging activities all in Japanese, while building their collaboration and language skills.

A big thank you to Miki Sensei and the Darwin Languages Centre team for organising such a fun and engaging event for our students.

WHAT CAN WE DO TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR OTHERS?

Next week, we will be encouraging all students to wear blue and bring a gold coin donation as we support Dolly's Dream – Do it for Dolly Day.

Last week, we were fortunate to have Dolly’s Dream at Wagaman, working with our primary students through workshops focused on bullying and last term, kindness. These sessions helped our students build a shared understanding of how we can look out for one another and create a safe and supportive school community.

By wearing blue and making a small donation, we are coming together to show our commitment to kindness and standing against bullying.
