This song is famously known as the African American National Anthem. I think this anthem should represent our entire country not just those of us that are African American. It speaks of a greatness we are on our way to achieving as country so long as every voice is lifted for the cause of Liberty. 🗽 I pray we humble ourselves as a country and recognize the weaknesses in our systems, institutions, and communities. The Bible says that God exalts the humble and resists the proud. The American pride must decrease as we seek to mend brokenness caused by centuries of injustice. It’s not something that can be fixed over night and only God can fix it. God won’t unleash His healing and Glory on a proud Nation.. that leaves room for us to claim that we fixed it because of our own greatness. I believe that our greatest days are ahead of us. I believe we will make it through this stronger and more glorious than ever. We must first be humbled though in order for God to exalt us. In the meantime, lift every voice and sing until all of the earth and all of heaven rings.
