October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and this year it's personal for our team.

Breast cancer has touched one of our Katherine crew close to home, and when he asked if TEC Automation could get behind something local, we jumped at it.

Katherine Speedway is running a breast cancer fundraiser this Saturday, and we're proud to be supporting it with two prizes:

A Business Safety Check bundle up for auction: a fire compliance audit, a switchboard thermal imaging scan, and test and tag, combining TEC Fire and TEC Automation

Win a Sparky for a Day in the raffle: a day of electrical work donated and run by one of our own
If you're heading along, get amongst it. Every dollar raised helps a family going through what one of ours is right now.

Proud to be a Territory business backing a Territory cause.

We're hiring! 🔧

TEC Automation is looking for an Electrical Instrumentation Technician to join the crew. If you're solid on instrumentation and calibration work and want to get into real industrial and Defence projects across the Territory, this one's for you.

Good team, good work, real opportunities to grow.

Know someone who'd smash this role? Tag them below or send it their way.

Happy NAIDOC Week from all of us at TEC!

This week we're taking a moment to say thank you to every Indigenous employee, apprentice and trainee who's worked with us over the past 7 years. You've helped shape this business, and we're proud to have you as part of the TEC team.

Wishing everyone a great NAIDOC Week - however you're celebrating.

It's NAIDOC Week. 50 Years Deadly! 🎉

This year's NAIDOC Poster is called Paralpi, by artist Zaachariah Fielding. It shows a special place near Mimili on the APY Lands in South Australia, where Elders welcome and teach the kids. We love it!

This week we'll also share some of the deadly Indigenous businesses we work with, and the people who've helped build TEC.

🎉 Big congrats to Matt "Wally" Wallace on smashing out his instrumentation certification!

Wally's only been with us just over 12 months, and he's already the fourth TEC team member to pick up this certification on the job. That's a huge effort.

This means Wally now has the skills to handle calibrations, reporting, fault finding and diagnosis, and PLC programming, on top of a sharper understanding of process and ex*****on across the board.

Outside of work, Wally captains his premier soccer team, Mindil Aces, and he brings that same drive and willingness to take on a challenge straight into the workshop and onto the tools. He's also not afraid to have a laugh (or cause one) with his cheeky sense of humour keeping the team entertained.

We're proud to back our people to grow their skills and confidence in a fast moving industry, and Wally's a great example of what that looks like in action.

Nice work, Wally! 👏

WE ARE SO PROUD OF THIS GUY! 🚀 Darrian Niehsner just finished his Certificate III in Electrotechnology. Four years of juggling work and TAFE to come out the other side a fully qualified, open-ticket electrician.

He came to us in 2021 through the Clontarf Foundation, labouring for a DDR before that. Five years with TEC, and he's done it.

Oh, and he just got married. Qualified and married within a month of each other. Big time.

One of the things we're proud of at TEC is we can give people these opportunities without them having to leave their town or go FIFO. Darian loves getting out to country on weekends. That's not something you can do on a mining roster. Monday to Friday, local work, real career progression. That's what we try to offer.

Congrats mate. Instrumentation next.
