What an incredible opportunity for some very lucky Larrakeyah Primary School students! πŸπŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

Our year 5/6 club cricketers had the chance to head along and watch Day 2 of the Australia πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί vs Bangladesh πŸ‡§πŸ‡© Test match.

But the excitement didn’t stop there! At lunch, the students got to take to the field and play cricket in front of the crowd.

An incredible day with memories they’ll no doubt treasure for years to come. A huge thank you to NT Cricket, Cricket Australia, Miss Hayter and Mrs Mauger who made this experience possible. everyone who made this special experience possible! πŸ’šπŸ

🌱 From Paddock to Plate! πŸ₯’πŸ‰

Our Year 4 students visited Organics AG Farm as part of their ASPIRE project, investigating the inquiry question:

β€œHow can we design a safe and sustainable journey from paddock to plate?”

Students explored the farm and learnt how fresh produce is grown, harvested and prepared on its journey to our tables.

A huge thank you to Mike from Organics AG Farm for welcoming our students, showing them around and sharing his knowledge with us! πŸ’š

Today, our Year 6 students had the opportunity to hear from former Larrakeyah Primary School students who are now thriving at Darwin High School. They shared their experiences, spoke about what high school is really like, explored the school’s facilities and answered plenty of questions. Thank you to our returning students for inspiring and supporting the next generation as they prepare for this exciting transition!

This afternoon, our students explored the meaning of Territory Day and what makes the Northern Territory such a special place to call home.

Celebrated on 1 July each year, Territory Day marks the anniversary of the Northern Territory gaining self-government in 1978.

It's a day to celebrate our unique history, diverse communities, stunning landscapes, and the Territory spirit we're so proud of.

From creative activities and discussions to sharing their favourite things about living in the NT, our students reflected on what Territory Day means to them. πŸŒ΄β˜€οΈπŸŠ

We loved hearing about the places they cherish, the communities they belong to, and the pride they feel in being Territorians. Thank you to our local Member Robyn Cahill for visiting and joining in on the activities.
