The 2026 theme, “Small Acts, Big Impact,” reminds us that even the smallest actions can change someone’s day—and sometimes their world.

In preparation for Book Week, author and illustrator Remy Lai will be visiting our school to share her stories and draw with students on Monday 17th August.

Remy will be sharing the below stories with each year level:
Prep - Year 3s—STAR THE ELEPHANT, and if there's time, RAINBOW THE KOALA
Year 4—PAWCASSO
Years 5&6—GHOST BOOK

Students can also buy Remy’s books by ordering prior to her visit.

🎉❤️ **OLSH MINI FAIR 2026 – WHAT A DAY!** ❤️🎉

Our annual **OLSH Mini Fair** was once again an incredible celebration of fun, creativity, generosity and community!

Our amazing **Year 6 students** took the lead, using their talents, ideas and creativity to plan and run an exciting collection of stalls, games and treats for the whole school to enjoy. From GlamTastic and Lob-a-Choc to Asteroid Attack, Sweetiverse, Fro-Yo Fiesta, Stanley’s Puppy Pool and so much more, there was plenty of laughter and excitement throughout the day! 🎨🍫🍩🚀🎟️

We are incredibly proud of our Year 6 students for everything they accomplished. A huge thank you also goes to our staff (especially the Year 6 teachers) who supported them every step of the way and helped bring their ideas to life.

To our **OLSH students and families, THANK YOU!** 💙 Your generosity was extraordinary. Whether you donated chocolates, toys, books and other items, purchased tickets, sent along money for the day or simply encouraged our Year 6 students, you helped make this year’s Mini Fair an enormous success.

We would also like to extend a very special thank you to **Cr Sarah Hutton**, who once again generously supported our Mini Fair by covering some of the costs associated with our stalls. We are so grateful for her ongoing support of our school community and this very special cause. ❤️

Emmanuel City Mission provides welcome, friendship and practical support to people experiencing homelessness and vulnerability in Brisbane. We are so proud that the hard work of our students and the generosity of our community will help support their important work.

This is what it means to be **Heart People**. ❤️ Putting our faith and love into action, sharing what we have and making a real difference for those most in need.

🎄❤️ Christmas in July was the perfect way to wrap up an incredible Catholic Education Week!

Our students and staff swapped uniforms for festive Christmas jumpers as we celebrated together while raising funds for Emmanuel City Mission. There were plenty of smiles, Christmas cheer and reminders that the joy of the season is found in caring for others.

As warm and cosy as we felt today, it's worth sparing a thought for those sleeping rough or facing another cold winter's night. 💙

Our Winter Warmers Appeal is still running, and we urgently need more donations of blankets, beanies, warm socks, jumpers and toiletries for Emmanuel City Mission. Every donation will help bring warmth, comfort and hope to someone doing it tough this winter.

Thank you to everyone who has already supported this important cause. Together, we can continue to share Christ's light by making a real difference in the lives of others.
