💜 Wear it Purple Day 2026 💜

At Coomealla High School, our students and staff wear purple to show their support for inclusion, acceptance and creating a safe and welcoming school community. 🌈🟣

This year’s theme, Colours of Courage, celebrates the many different forms of courage shown by LGBTQIA+ young people, allies and communities every day.

It was great to see so many students and staff getting involved and showing their support. Students enjoyed a free BBQ and plenty of fun activities throughout lunch. Activities included the photo competition, canvas challenge, rainbow shoelace designs, lolly jar guessing competition, tug of war and basketball. ✨

Thank you to all of the organizations who came out and showed their support. We appreciate all that you do! 💜

📚🎶 Book Week 2026 | Symphony of Stories 🎶📚

What a fantastic way to celebrate Book Week at Coomealla High School! 🤩

Our students and staff brought this year’s theme, Symphony of Stories, to life by dressing as their favourite book characters and musical icons. From classic stories to legendary performers, from Spiderman to The Beatles! There was plenty of creativity on show! ✨

This Thursday, August 27th, students and staff are invited to dress as their favourite musical icon or book character for this year’s theme, Symphony of Stories.

Think Mozart, Queen, Elvis, Taylor Swift, Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland and more!

🏆 Prizes will be up for grabs for the most creative and best dressed.

We can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with! ✨

What a deadly day at Coomealla High School, celebrating culture, connection and community.

Our students, staff and community came together to recognise and celebrate the strength, history and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through a day filled with meaningful activities, connection and plenty of proud moments.

This Tuesday, 25 August, we’re encouraging students and staff at Coomealla High School to wear purple in support of Wear It Purple Day and our Colours of Courage celebration. 💜
🌈 Colours of Courage celebrates the everyday bravery of LGBTQIA+SB young people, allies and communities. It recognizes the courage to be yourself, speak up, support others and create positive change. The colours represent diverse identities and experiences, while celebrating the ongoing journey towards safer, more inclusive spaces. Courage can be found in everyday acts of pride, support and acceptance.

🔬 National Science Week at Coomealla High School 🌱

This National Science Week, we’re celebrating curiosity, discovery and the hands-on learning that happens in our science classrooms every day.

This year’s theme, Seeds of Science: Nurturing Knowledge for All, is a great reminder that every big discovery starts with a question, an idea and a little curiosity. 🧪🔍

Through practical investigations, research and exploring new ideas, we’re sparking curiosity in our students and encouraging them to ask questions, have a go and discover where science can take them!
