Sensory Play in our Nursery

Our Nursery children have been exploring sensory play with squishy spagetti.

Using their hands to squeeze, pull, stretch, gather and explore the different textures, the children were encouraged to investigate at their own pace. This supoorts their developing fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and sensory awareness.

Creating a safe sleep environment is one of the many ways we care for children each day. From following safe sleep practices and using approved cots, to completing visual checks every 5 minutes, our educators take every step to help children rest safely and comfortably.

We also work closely with families to understand each child's individual sleep routine, because feeling safe, settled and well-rested helps children learn, grow and thrive.

💜 Safe sleep is everyone's responsibility, and it's always a priority.

Learning About Our Community Helpers!

Our Kindy children have been learning all about our community and the many different people and occupations that help make our community a safe and caring place. 🏘️💛

Last week, we were very lucky to welcome two wonderful parent volunteers who generously shared their time, knowledge and experiences with the children.

👩‍⚕️ Our Nurse Visit
The children learnt about how nurses and doctors help us when we are unwell or need medical care. They explored some of the medical tools used by healthcare professionals and had the opportunity to ask questions and share their own experiences.

👷‍♂️ Our Construction Visit
We explored with the children about working safely. The children discovered some of the protective clothing and safety equipment workers wear and learnt about the different vehicles, machinery and tools used when working at mining sites.

These experiences provided wonderful opportunities for our children to learn from real-world experiences, ask questions, build their understanding of different occupations and connect their learning to the wider community. 🌏

A big thank you to our amazing parent volunteers for sharing your time, knowledge and passion with our Kindy children!

Learning about our community, one experience at a time!

Whether your child is already attending early learning, getting ready to start, or you're still exploring your options, it's natural to have questions.

💭 Will my child feel safe and supported? 💭 How will they cope with new experiences and changes? 💭 What can I do to help them feel confident and settled?

Listen to Episode 1 of What I Wish I Knew... The Early Learning Guide podcast, with child development expert Dr Billy Garvey as he explains why transitions are such an important part of childhood and how strong, supportive relationships help children navigate change with confidence.

From starting early learning to moving rooms, making new friends or tackling other big milestones, transitions are a normal part of growing up. When children feel safe, supported and connected, they're more likely to embrace new experiences, build confidence and develop the resilience they need to thrive.

🎧 Tune in to hear Dr Billy's expert insights and explore more episodes of What I Wish I Knew... The Early Learning Guide podcast: https://brnw.ch/21x5zur

💛 Because every child deserves to feel safe, supported and a true sense of belonging as they grow, learn and discover the world around them.

Celebrating Our Amazing Educators!

Last week, we celebrated our incredible educators with our very own Goodstart Darch Mini Awards Evening! 🏆💛

It was a special evening to recognise the hard work, dedication, passion and time our team gives each and every day. Some educators went home with certificates and awards, but the truth is… we are all winners! 🥰

Our evening was about so much more than certificates. It was about valuing every single member of our team and recognising the important impact each person has within our Goodstart Darch community.

From the relationships we build with our children, the trust we create with our families, the support we give our colleagues, and the experiences we create each day — every team member plays a vital role in making Goodstart Darch the special place it is.

Thank you to our incredible team for everything you do. Your dedication, care and passion make a difference every single day.

Together, we are Goodstart Darch. Together, we make a difference.

💛 Happy Educators’ Day! 💛

Today we celebrate the incredible educators who make a difference in children’s lives every single day. 🌟

Our educators bring care, patience, creativity and so much love to their work. From the little everyday moments to the big milestones, they create safe, nurturing environments where children feel valued, supported and excited to learn.

Thank you for the smiles, the cuddles, the messy play, the endless questions, the songs, the stories and for always seeing the world through children’s eyes.

We are so grateful for everything you do!
Happy Educators’ Day to our amazing team!

At Goodstart, we believe stability isn’t something you should have to question. It’s something you should be able to count on.

Our highly trained and experienced educators, many of which have been part of our centre for years, grow alongside the families they support. That continuity means your child isn’t just another enrolment, they’re known, understood, and genuinely cared for every single day.

We offer reassurance, consistency, and a community you can trust 🌿

Reach out anytime if you’d like to chat about how we can support your family.
