Australia's 2026 NAPLAN results were released yesterday, highliting an important issue for students, families, and schools.

NAPLAN is Australia's national assessment of literacy and numeracy for students in Years 3, 5, 7, and 9. Around 10% of students are significantly behind their peers and require additional support to catch up.

As Professor Tanya Serry from La Trobe University explains, 'Literacy can be considered a gateway to academic success and then to a range of life opportunities.'

جان به سه دانش‌آموز سال دوازدهم که همگی در یک مکتب در ایالت ویکتوریا تحصیل می‌کنند، مضمون انگلیسی تدریس می‌کند. او که معلم بازنشسته زبان انگلیسی است، با سخاوت تمام، تمام دستمزد هفتگی خود از Wattle Pathways را برای حمایت از آموزش دختران در افغانستان که خودش برای چندین سال به صورت آنلاین آنها را تدریس می کنند اهدا می‌کند.

An inspiring story from Jon, our Year 12 English tutor!

Jon tutors three Year 12 English students who all attend the same school in Victoria. A retired English teacher, he generously donates his entire weekly salary from Wattle Pathways to maintain and support girls' education in Afghanistan.

As a social enterprise committed to donating 50% of our annual profits to support disadvantaged students in Australia—including refugee students and students with disability—we're incredibly proud of Jon's generosity and his contribution to our growing organisation.
