نابرابری های آموزشی در استرالیا

اگر خود شما یا یکی از اعضای خانواده‌تان می‌تواند لطفاً راپور کامل یا بخشی از یافته‌های یک تحقیق جدید را که درباره نابرابری‌های آموزشی در استرالیا به زبان انگلیسی نشر شده؛ و ما در پست قبلی خود شریک کرده‌ایم؛ را مطالعه کنید.

نویسندگان گزارش اخیر Years Apart نزدیک به دو دهه نتایج امتحان NAPLAN را تحلیل کرده و به‌ویژه بر تأثیر سطح تحصیلات و شغل والدین بر نتایج آموزشی کودکان در سراسر استرالیا تمرکز داشته است.

یافته های این تحقیق این است که نا برابری های آموزشی در استرالیادلایل پیچیده ساختاری اقتصادی و اجتماعی دارند و معمولا در سنین پایین (مشخصا در صنف سوم مکتب) آغاز می شوند و در سال های بعدی مکتب بیشتر می شوند به‌طوری‌که بیشترین نابرابری‌ها در سال نهم مکتب مشاهده می‌شود.

برای مثال، بر اساس میانگین شکاف مهارت خواندن بین سال‌های ۲۰۰۸ تا ۲۰۲۲، دانش‌آموزان سال سومی که حداقل یکی از والدینشان دارای لیسانس یا مدرک بالاتر دانشگاهی بوده، از همان ابتدا ۲ سال و ۳ ماه جلوتر از دانش‌آموزانی بودند که والدینشان مکتب را به پایان نرسانده بودند. این فاصله در سال پنجم به ۲ سال و ۱۰ ماه، در سال هفتم به ۳ سال و ۱۰ ماه، و در سال نهم به ۴ سال و ۳ ماه افزایش یافته است؛ به این معنا که دانش‌آموزان که از خانواده های مرفه و با تحصیلات عالی (advantaged backgrounds)بودند از نظر یادگیری بیش از چهار سال از دانش آموزان محروم (disadvantaged) جلوتر بوده‌اند.

پیام گزارش جدید بسیار واضح است. اگر موفقیت تحصیلی فرزندان برای یک خانواده در استرالیا مهم است؛ حمایت والدین باید در سال های آغازین مکتب شان شروع و تا پایان هردوره تحصیلی ادامه داشته باشد.

At Wattle Pathways, we are committed to addressing educational inequities in Australia. Through our tutoring and civic education services, we witness every day the challenges faced by students from disadvantaged backgrounds, including those from low socioeconomic communities, students with special needs, Indigenous students, and refugees and asylum seekers, across all levels of education in Australia.

In this context, the findings of the recent report Years Apart on educational inequities in Australia are deeply familiar to us. The report analysed nearly two decades of NAPLAN results, focusing particularly on the impact of parental education and occupation on children’s educational outcomes across the country. Its key findings include:

- Australia is not on track to meet its educational goals of equity and excellence.

- The learning gaps in Australian schools begin as early as Year 3 and widen as students progress through school, with the largest disparities observed in Year 9. For example, based on the average reading gap between 2008 and 2022, Year 3 students with at least one parent holding a bachelor’s degree or higher were already 2 years and 3 months ahead of students whose parents had not completed school. By Year 5, the gap increased to 2 years and 10 months; by Year 7, to 3 years and 10 months; and by Year 9, advantaged students were 4 years and 3 months ahead in their learning.

Moss & Stone Creative Arts Therapy is hosting a group session focused on your needs, and offering parents and carers a supportive, creative, and reflective space to reconnect with their own emotional wellbeing.

You will have the ability to explore the personal impact of caregiving, consider your needs, and develop self-care tools for on-going well being. This group session will provide renewal through creative expression and sharing with others with simlar lived experiences.
