Rental providers! Do not assume your insurance cover.

Many of us will only check our insurance when needing to make a claim, sometimes being disappointed that we are only partially covered or NOT at all.

For example, loss of rent is a must cover, but often this is an “add on” / optional item you need to tick when placing the cover.

Contents cover is another example. Things like carpets may NOT be included in your policy unless specifically noted.

It’s worth to check before paying the renewal.

A common misunderstanding is that the lease ends when the lease agreement ends.

Most residential leases continue after the fixed term ends, even if not renewed for a further fixed term.

The tenancy remains on foot until it is ended by either the renter or rental provider giving the correct notice to vacate.
