🌋🔬 A Day of Science & Discovery! 🌊
Today, the children enjoyed two exciting science investigations!
In the morning, they explored a volcano experiment, making predictions and watching as bicarbonate of soda, vinegar and food colouring created a bubbling “eruption”! 🌋
In the afternoon, the children investigated “Sink or Float”, predicting whether everyday objects would sink or float before testing their ideas in water. 🌊
These hands-on experiences encouraged curiosity, observation, prediction and scientific thinking, while also supporting turn-taking, listening and sharing ideas. 🧪✨

🍪🌸 Baking in the Waterlily Room! 🌸🍪
Our little chefs in the Waterlily Room have been busy baking up a storm! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳 The children had so much fun making delicious biscuits using different shapes and cutters. It was a wonderful hands-on experience that encouraged creativity, fine motor skills and plenty of smiles along the way! 💕✨
Of course, the best part was enjoying their yummy creations! 😋🍪

🚒 Fire education play experience 🔥

Today in the Waterlily Room at Mayfield Early Education Dandenong, the children enjoyed a fun "Putting Out the Fire" activity!

They explored a fire truck, firefighter uniform, and fire extinguisher while learning about fire safety. We were so proud of how patiently they waited for their turn, followed instructions, and worked together as a team. What a fantastic learning experience! 👏

🌱 Waterlily Room Garden Adventure 🌱

Today, the children in the Waterlily Room enjoyed getting their hands dirty as they planted seeds in our garden. This hands-on experience provided a wonderful opportunity for the children to learn about nature, how plants grow, and the importance of caring for our environment.
The children carefully planted their seeds, covered them with soil, and gave them a gentle drink of water. There was lots of excitement as they talked about what their seeds might grow into and what plants need to thrive.
We can't wait to watch our garden grow and see the children's curiosity and wonder continue to blossom alongside their plants! 🌿💚

🌿 National Reconciliation Week at Our Centre 🌿

This week, the children participated in a range of experiences to celebrate National Reconciliation Week. Through stories, discussions, and creative activities, they explored the importance of respect, inclusion, and learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
We are proud to support children in developing an appreciation for Australia's rich cultural heritage and the importance of reconciliation.

🌊🐢 World Ocean Day Learning 🐢🌊

Today, the children explored the importance of World Ocean Day and learned why keeping our oceans clean is so important. Together, we discussed how rubbish and waste can affect sea animals and their habitats, with the children sharing thoughtful ideas about ways we can help protect our oceans.

To extend their learning, the children participated in a hands-on activity where they carefully removed pieces of waste that were stuck on a turtle. As they helped make the turtle happy and safe again, the children demonstrated empathy, kindness, and a growing understanding of environmental responsibility.

We are so proud of the children's enthusiasm and commitment to caring for our planet and the creatures that call it home. 💙🌎

♻️ Recycling Fun and Learning 🌱

At Mayfield Dandenong, the children participated in a recycling activity led by the student in the room. The children explored different recyclable materials and worked together to sort the items into their correct boxes. ♻️✨
This hands-on experience encouraged environmental awareness, problem-solving, and teamwork while helping the children learn the importance of caring for our environment in a fun and engaging way. 💚

The children at Mayfield Dandenong have been enjoying spending time outdoors exploring, creating, and learning through play. From climbing and running to sensory play, nature exploration, and group games, the outdoor environment provides endless opportunities for the children to build confidence, develop gross motor skills, and strengthen social connections with their peers. 🌱✨
