We are still a little sleepy after our Canberra trip but straight back into week 7 we go!

And just like that, our Canberra adventure draws to a close.

It has been a week of exciting, new adventures. We learned, we laughed, we cried a little when we missed home…..but this adventure truly was magical!

Mrs Streeter, Mrs Dalgliesh and Mrs Sutton are so very proud of each and every Jimbour kidlet for their behaviour and engagement this week. Every single one of them demonstrated a maturity and respect well beyond their years and considering our youngest traveller was 4 years younger than the other travellers we think they really, really rocked it!

Well done Jimbour students, we are proud of you!

The travellers were a tiny bit weary today but still had an amazing day!

Today we got to visit the Deep Space Communication Complex 🧑‍🚀 and learn all about space and how it is studied to learn more about our universe.

Next we got to visit the National Arboretum where the kidlets has some much needed play time on the giant playground and then try their hand at orienteering. Pleased to say the students worked extremely well together as a team and rocked their tracking skills.

After lunch we headed to the Australian War Memorial. We were so proud of how respectful our students were as we walked around the memorial learning all about our soldiers sacrifices.

Finally we all enjoyed a treat for dinner and headed back to our accommodation for some down time as the rain made our planned guided bush walk a little less appealing!

Our trip has almost come to an end but the memories we have made have been priceless!

If we thought we were tired yesterday, today made sure to step it up a notch!

Today we got to play in the snow ❄️ at Corin Forest including epic snowball fights and snow angels.

Then we headed to Questacon and explored all things science including a giant slide drop 🫢

After lunch we headed to the National Zoo and got to hold a snake and feed animals including otters, an emu and llamas! 🦙

We rounded out the day with a trip out to Mt Stromlo Observatory to use their special telescopes to look at the stars, Venus and the moon 🌙 ⭐️ No photos from the night activity since it was just a tad dark 😂

This adventure really is epic!

Another jam-packed day of learning and adventure! Today’s tours included:

- Parliament House where we met David Littleproud and got the opportunity to role play a session of the House of Representatives including passing a new Bill!
- a little play in the park on the way to the National Library where we looked at artefacts, books and displays over 8 levels of this impressive Library!
- took in the views of Canberra from Mt Ainsley lookout.
- explored the National Capital Exhibition and learned how Canberra got its name.
- finished out the day with a private tour of the Australian Institute of Sport and saw some athletes in action!

Some very weary travellers tonight so a big sleep is needed! Off to the snow tomorrow ❄️

Exhausted but happy 😊

Today we visited-
- Old Parliment House
- The High Court of Australia 👩‍⚖️
- The National Electoral Education Centre 🗳️

Finished off with a cycle around the lake! 🚲

Then this evening we had a night time tour of The National Dinosaur Museum 🦕

Oh what a day! Today was spent travelling and we already feel like it’s been the most amazing adventure! Long bus trip followed by a flight ✈️ then bus again to accommodation. Our little legends are sound asleep ready for a day of adventures tomorrow! 🚌
Of course our boys decided bunk beds needed a renovation- cubby house anyone???
