𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗗𝗿 𝗔𝗶𝗱𝗮

We’re pleased to welcome Dr Aida, who will be joining us at Dakabin State High School each Monday to provide convenient GP appointments for our students.

Appointments are available next Monday from 9:30am to 2:30pm and are bulk billed.

Appointments can be booked now for next week. If your child needs to see a GP, this is a convenient opportunity to access care during the school day.

𝗪𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗜𝘁 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗻

On Friday, Dakabin State High School proudly celebrated Wear It Purple Day, an annual Australian initiative supporting and celebrating LGBTQIA+ young people.

Wear It Purple Day promotes safe, supportive and inclusive environments where all young people feel seen, valued, respected and empowered to be themselves.

To mark the occasion, our Dakabin State High School Wellbeing Team hosted a range of activities, including a pancake BBQ, Just Dance sessions and plenty of purple treats for students to enjoy.

It was wonderful to see so many students and staff getting involved, wearing purple and showing their support for inclusion and diversity across our school community.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a positive and welcoming celebration.

Together, we continue to create a school where everyone belongs.

𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁

A huge thank you to Steven Miles for inviting our Student Council to a Parliamentary Barbecue.

Our students enjoyed a private tour of Parliament House, met other politicians and had the opportunity to connect with students from other schools who attended.

It was a fantastic opportunity for our Student Council members to connect, learn and engage with our parliamentary community while gaining an insight into how our democratic system works.

We are grateful for the opportunity and the chance for our students to experience Parliament House firsthand.

The Department of Education wants to hear from Year 10, 11 and 12 students who left a state school during 2025, before completing Year 12.

Eligible students will soon receive a letter with a personalised survey link and may also be contacted by email or phone. Parents/carers, please encourage them to take part. The survey takes only 5 minutes, and participants can win an iPad Air just for completing it.

𝗗𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆 𝗛𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝘆𝗺

Last Friday, our Intermediate and Open Boys Basketball teams had the opportunity to head down to Jetts Dakabin for a group fitness session led by personal trainer Jake.

We are extremely grateful for our partnership with Jetts gym and the opportunities they continue to provide for our Basketball Academy students. Experiences like these help our players develop beyond the basketball court while building their understanding of the importance of strength and conditioning in supporting their overall performance.

A huge thank you to Jake and the Jetts team for welcoming our boys and delivering such a fantastic session.

We look forward to heading back this Friday with our Junior Boys and Open Girls teams!
