Currumbin Pines Early Learning Centre of Excellence

Currumbin Pines Early Learning Centre of Excellence An envious position with leafy play areas, natural timber play equipment, the serenity of the river.

Our Reggio Emilia inspired programme is passionate about the children's developmental process. Our team have been chosen for their kindness, their concern for others, their alertness to the differences in children in their care, their knowledge of childcare. We have been recognised as a Nature Play QLD Education provider in 2020. We will also provide delicious, trusted organic recipes created by o

ur amazing chef, Lisa.

“Learning and teaching should not stand on opposite banks and just watch the river flow by; instead, they should embark together on a journey down the water. Through an active, reciprocal exchange, teaching can strengthen learning how to learn.” When you enter our centre, you have a feeling of that “home away from home”

NAIDOC Week may only come around once a year, but embedding Indigenous perspectives happens every day. 🤎

It’s in the walk to the lake, noticing a bird’s nest and wondering who built it.

It’s in creating with natural materials, exploring local stories, caring for Country, sharing First Nations art, language and ways of knowing.

For us, NAIDOC Week isn’t a standalone event. It’s a chance to celebrate learning that continues throughout the year, helping children build a genuine connection with the world’s oldest living culture.

Gallery Night is only a few weeks away, and we can’t wait to share what our children have been creating.

Creativity isn’t just about making art. It’s about wondering, experimenting, taking risks and finding joy in the process.

We hope Gallery Night gives you a chance to see your child’s creations through a different lens, celebrating not just what they made, but the thinking, imagination and learning behind it. 💚

Music of the Rain 🎶

The gentle tapping of raindrops on silver pots.
Puddles splashing beneath gumboots.
Water pouring into sandy rivers and castles.

This morning, children explored the sounds, movement, and magic of rainy weather through play, curiosity, and all of their senses 🤍

A reminder that sometimes the richest learning experiences aren’t planned at all… they arrive with the weather

As adults, we sometimes forget the magic of rainy days…
the excitement of jumping in puddles, racing leaf boats down the gutter, catching raindrops on your tongue, or coming home with muddy knees and a big smile 🌧️🤍

It’s understandable that wet weather can make us think of soggy clothes, muddy shoes, and sniffly noses. But research shows that children don’t get sick simply from being cold or playing outdoors in wet weather. Colds are caused by viruses, which actually spread more easily indoors in crowded, poorly ventilated spaces. Fresh air and outdoor play can support children’s wellbeing, movement, sensory development, and connection to nature.

At CPELC, we believe there is so much joy and learning to be found in all kinds of weather. Rain invites children to slow down, explore, problem solve, imagine, and experience the world with all their senses.

So if the skies are grey this week, perhaps we can lean into it a little… with gumboots, raincoats, and a sense of adventure

The belief, the encouragement, the love…
it all matters more than you know.

Behind the many roles you take on each day,
you are helping shape how your child sees themselves.

This Mother’s Day, we celebrate the love, strength, and care you bring into their world 🌸🩷

Construction week in Turtles 🛠️

As part of their ongoing project exploring different professions, children have been busy designing, building, imagining, and problem solving.

From block structures to construction sites, every space has become an invitation to create.

This is where the environment becomes the third teacher…
supporting curiosity, encouraging collaboration, and inspiring new ideas.

The environment is the third teacher…. But what does that mean?

Learning through connection 🤍

With Uncle Boomerang, children explore the land beneath their feet… mixing ochre, feeling its texture, and creating with natural pigments.

A moment of slowing down, of listening, of belonging. Connected to Country, and to each other.
