Our Year 9s have recently completed their Rite Journey Abyss Camp, spending three days immersed in outdoor challenges and new experiences.

Whether navigating orienteering courses, mountain bike riding, hiking through the landscape, or solving problems as a team, students embraced every opportunity to learn and grow. One of the most significant moments was the solo night, offering space for reflection and self-discovery.

The Abyss fostered resilience, independence, and a willingness to embrace challenge, and we couldn't be more proud of the way our Year 9 students supported one another throughout the experience.

Our Year 7-12 Dance students represented the College with excellence at the Dance Ultra Competition held at Immanuel College earlier this term.

Congratulations to Year 11 students Niamh and Delilah for placing 3rd in their duo, and to Year 9 student Bethany for placing 3rd in her lyrical solo. Bethany's impressive score placed her in the Top 5, earning her a place in the finals, where she performed her solo and received a Special Mention.

We are incredibly proud of all our dancers for their dedication, hard work and achievements.

Our Stage 2 SACE Drama students are putting the finishing touches on their Group Performance, A Game, as they prepare to share their work with audiences this Thursday 27 August.

Throughout the creative process, students have been challenged and inspired by opportunities to work alongside industry experts, including Ruth Fallon as Action Choreographer, Ellen Steele leading a dynamic Laban Movement Workshop, and Zander Lee providing technical support and expertise.

These invaluable partnerships provide authentic stretch and challenge, enabling students to deepen their skills, expand their creative thinking, and experience professional theatre-making practices firsthand.

We can't wait to see A Game come to life on stage! 🎬

Three of our co-curricular ensembles proudly represented the Cabra at this year's South Australian Schools Band and Orchestra Festival (SASBOF), one of the state's premier school music events.

With more than 170 school ensembles performing across five days, our students showcased their dedication, teamwork and musical excellence. We're proud to share that all three ensembles were awarded Bronze by the specialist adjudicators.

Boylan House have chosen to support Kickstart For Kids, a foundation that aims to give every child an equal opportunity to succeed, regardless of their circumstances. They run school breakfast and lunch programs, provide student mentoring, and supply basic clothing and healthcare support to South Australian schools.

Last term, Kickstart for Kids visited to speak to Boylan students about their work, and how Cabra can support their programs through fundraising, donations and raising awareness.

Boylan will be collecting non-perishable breakfast items, and their first fundraiser was a highly successful Bake Sale.

Congratulations to our Year 9A Girls Netball team on an outstanding season, highlighted by an A1 Grand Final appearance at Adelaide Arena.

The girls showed great resilience against a strong Sacred Heart College side, finishing the match with an impressive 8–5 final quarter. While Sacred Heart claimed the premiership, reaching the Grand Final is a remarkable achievement and one the team should be incredibly proud of.

A special thank you to coach Miss Keeleigh Obst, for her commitment to the team this season, fostering the girls' skills, confidence and resilience both on and off the court.

Join us for our Year 12 Drama production of A Game by Dennis E. Noble, a powerful theatrical experience that starts with humour, absurdity and fun... before revealing something much darker.

As the game unfolds, competition grows, boundaries are tested, and ordinary people are pushed in unexpected directions. Who wins? Who loses? And what happens when the desire for power takes over? Why does this all feel weirdly familiar?

The cast and crew are gearing up for their performances next week and have recently enjoyed a Laban workshop with professional theatre maker Ellen Steele as part of their game playing and rehearsals.

Congratulations to our talented students who were recognised in the 2026 Young Voices Awards!

Our Year 8 students received a Highly Commended Award in the Intermediate Digital category for their compelling submissions, while a Year 7 student earned a Special Mention in the Intermediate Article category.

This year's theme, "To Go Boldly: The Path of Faith and Justice", challenged students to explore how courageous action and deep belief can help build a more just and hopeful world. We are incredibly proud of the creativity, insight and passion our students demonstrated through their work and thank Ms Heitmann for facilitating this initiative.
