🏆 AFL Border North East Female Football League Winners 2026🏆

Congratulations to Santanna, Lacey, Evelyn and Alana, who have proudly represented Lavington Panthers Female Football Club this season.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate their success, with the girls helping their teams secure both the U15s and U18s AFL Border North East Female Football League 2026 premierships over the weekend! 🏆🏆

This term, Year 7 History are exploring Polynesian expansion across the pacific. As part of this study, some of our students looked at pounamu (also known as greenstone), which is an important stone in Polynesian cultures. Through this investigation, students learned how pounamu was used for tools, jewellery, and as a symbol of connection between communities. It also played a key role in ceremonies and storytelling.

Over the past eight weeks, four Year 9 students have taken part in a Work Readiness Course, coordinated by our Support Transition Teacher, Mrs. Carol Dominguez.

Throughout the program, students had the opportunity to visit local industries, including Bunnings and the SS&A Club, and engage in skill-building workshops led by SQUAD, Kirinari RISE, Omnia, Thurgoona Training Academy, and Wodonga TAFE.

This experience not only helped students develop essential work readiness skills but also allowed them to connect and collaborate with peers from other local network High Schools.

Our students had a fantastic day representing Billabong High School at the 2026 Inclusive Sport Ten Pin Bowling Competition in Wodonga on Friday.

The team demonstrated great sportsmanship, encouraged one another throughout the day, and bowled exceptionally well.

Congratulations Willa, Makayla, Lily and McKenna. The girls won the State puzzle competition and now progress to the National finals in November.

📰💙 We are incredibly proud of the inspiring story of our Year 12 student Harlan and School Learning Support Officer Kerrie Harrison featured in The Border Mail.

For Harlan's entire schooling journey, Kerrie has been a constant source of encouragement, care and support. Their story is a wonderful example of the difference that School Learning Support Officers make every day, building relationships that help students grow in confidence, overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

As Harlan prepares to complete his final year at Billabong High School, we celebrate his achievements and resilience, while recognising Kerrie's unwavering commitment and the positive impact she has had throughout his educational journey.

Congratulations, Harlan and Kerrie, on this well-deserved recognition.

This special bond was forged over Harlan's entire school journey.

Last week was a special week at Billabong High School as we announced our 2027 Student Leadership Team.
