📚✨ EVERY DAY COUNTS – 100% ATTENDANCE IN JUNE! ✨📚
At Melba College, we know that every day at school matters. Learning, friendships, wellbeing, confidence and future opportunities are built through regular attendance — and even small absences can add up quickly.
Did you know?
📅 Missing just one day a fortnight adds up to four weeks of learning missed across the school year.
📖 Research shows that every day a student misses can impact their learning in reading, writing and numeracy.
🤝 Regular attendance also helps students build resilience, strengthen friendships, develop teamwork skills and maintain a strong sense of belonging at school.
This June, we’re encouraging all students to aim for 100% attendance and be part of our:
🎯 “No Excuse, Don’t Hit Snooze – Be at School This June!” 🎯
Every lesson, every conversation, every opportunity and every achievement starts with being here.
Families can support by:
✅ Establishing consistent morning routines
✅ Booking appointments outside school hours where possible
✅ Encouraging students to attend even when they may feel reluctant or have fallen behind
✅ Communicating with the school if support is needed
We understand that illness and unexpected circumstances happen. If attendance is becoming challenging, please reach out — we are here to work alongside students and families to provide support.
Let’s make June a month of commitment, connection and success. Together, let’s see how many students can achieve 100% attendance and show that at Melba College, Every Day Counts! 🌟📚🏫

Our Year 10 students have been hard at work in their SBAT program, showcasing incredible teamwork, resilience and hands-on building skills while constructing this bridge! 👏🔨
Through projects like this, students are developing valuable real-world skills including:
• Problem-solving and critical thinking
• Teamwork and communication
• Project planning and organisation
• Workplace safety and responsibility
• Confidence and independence
Programs like SBAT (School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships) provide students with authentic industry experience while they continue their education, helping them build pathways into future careers and further training.
At Melba, we are proud to offer opportunities that connect learning with the real world, giving students practical experiences that inspire engagement, growth and success beyond the classroom.
Programs like this are just one of the many ways we support students to explore their passions, develop employability skills and prepare for life after school. 🌱🏗️

The Year 9/10 boys football team played 3 games at Elgar Park on 14/5/26. The boys never gave up all day and all of them played with great spirit.
Every player showed determination, teamwork and resilience across all three matches, representing our school with pride and sportsmanship. It was fantastic to see the encouragement, effort and positive attitude shown both on and off the field.
At Melba College, interschool sport is just one of the many opportunities students have to build confidence, teamwork, friendships and school pride while staying active and connected to the wider school community.
Well done boys on an outstanding day of competition and teamwork! 👏🏉
Our Y9/10 Soccer girls also did us proud. Their teamwork, fair play & enjoyment was a delight to watch. Well done girls!!
