If you've failed the LANTITE literacy test, it may be that your vocabulary has let you down, rather than your poor grammar or punctuation. Unfortunately, one of the 'problem areas' that LANTITE students often fail to address is, how to improve their vocabulary. This is a big mistake! Happy New Year and very best wishes to all those LANTITE students currently awaiting their results. I wish you every success in 2019! If you don't pass, try to keep positive and remember that you have more than one shot at the LANTITE test. This is what ACER says: Additional test attempts
If you have sat the test three times and you have not met the standard, please contact your institution to discuss your options.
In special and/or extenuating circumstances, institutions may consider that individual students should be allowed additional test attempts up to a maximum of five (including the initial three attempts). Advice is available for higher education providers on the process required for requesting fourth and fifth test attempts which includes confirmation of remedial actions that have been put in place for the individual student.
If you register for a test sitting and do not attend the session you booked, this will not count towards your re-sit attempts.

My advice to anyone who has not done as well as they'd hoped, is to not rush into retaking the test. Take the time to evaluate your strengths and weaknesses, and make a plan to improve your performance before re-sitting the test. There are lots of free resources available, some of which are listed on my website: https://englishtutorinoz.com/useful-links/ Not everyone passes first time, but given the right preparation there is no reason you shouldn't pass the LANTITE test next time around. Finally, big congratulations to those who have passed! When it comes to teaching, don't forget what an ordeal these standardised tests can be and try to minimise stress for your own students :)

You will have the opportunity to re-sit the Test from July 2016; however the cost of sitting the Test will be your responsibility.

I feel for anyone having to sit exams and tests, especially LANTITE ... although for those literacy nerds (like me) you won't help noticing that the headline below should be, 'Multiple choice questions are like'! Just saying ...

Vocabulary is one of the keys to success for the LANTITE literacy test: knowing the difference between 'principle' and 'principal', or when to use 'affect' or 'effect', or understanding the meaning of words like 'paradigm'. If you haven't found it already, the Oxford Dictionaries website provides an invaluable resource for students. Here is their useful list of easily confusable words: https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/usage/commonly-confused-words
For other useful links check out my website: https://englishtutorinoz.com/useful-links/

Spellcheckers can miss mistakes where words have been mixed up because they look and sound alike. Our video guide will help you see the difference for yourself.
