At School for Life, we believe education creates prosperity - and prosperity ends poverty. This is about more than classrooms. We create change.

Our community began with one school in a small Ugandan village, driven by a simple yet powerful belief: every child deserves the chance to dream, grow, and thrive. Today, that belief has grown into a global movement that is educating poverty out of existence, building clean, safe schools where education doesn’t just teach - it transforms. Guided by an ethos of relationships, rigour, and real-world

✨ A huge thank you to the Gillespie Family Foundation. ✨

Thanks to your generosity, a new commercial bakery has been built at Mbazzi High School — creating practical learning and employment opportunities for students as they move beyond school. 🍞

We’re already seeing that impact through graduates like Acham Jane Esther. After completing her Certificate in Catering and Home Management, Jane is now working full-time as a baker at Mbazzi. 🥰

For Jane, this is more than employment. It is stability, independence, and the opportunity to build a prosperous future for herself.

The bakery is helping turn education into real pathways for young people, connecting learning with practical skills, income, and long-term opportunity.

Thank you for making that possible. 🙌💙

Growing for the future. 🌱

Students at Katuuso Boarding House recently spent time planting trees around the school grounds, helping create a greener and more welcoming space for the students who live there.

In time, the trees will provide shade, give home to birds and wildlife, and grow alongside the many young people who will call Katuuso home in the years ahead. It’s a simple but important part of creating a place where students can feel safe, settled, and ready to learn. 🥰

Four weeks on and this year’s Gala Ball is still with us. ✨

That night our community took a big step towards building the new Kibumbiro High School and Vocational Training Centre. It’s a place where young people can continue their education, gain practical skills, and access real pathways into employment. 📚

Now the evening is over, the real work continues. 💪

Every classroom, every student pathway, and every opportunity starts when we believe in the potential of every child. 🥰

Thank you to everyone who joined us and continues to be part of the School for Life community. 🙌💙

This week, we celebrated Heroes Day in Uganda. It's a national day that recognises the people who have made a positive contribution to their communities and country. 🥰

Teachers and school community leaders are often among those heroes.

Across Uganda, being called "Teacher" is more than a job title. It is a sign of respect, given to people who guide, support, and invest in the next generation. 👏

To our wonderful teachers and school community leaders who are educating poverty out of existence, Happy Heroes Day. 💕

✨From Mbazzi student to enrolled nurse. ✨

Congratulations to Emmanuel, who has completed a Certificate in Nursing at the International School of Nursing and Midwifery – Maya. 👏

Now a qualified Enrolled Nurse, Emmanuel has returned to the School for Life community and is working at Mbazzi High School, supporting the health and wellbeing of students each day. 🙌

For students at Mbazzi, access to healthcare at school means they are better supported, safer, and more able to focus on learning. 🥰

It’s incredibly special to see Emmanuel come full circle — from student to healthcare professional — now helping care for the next generation coming through.

Congratulations, Emmanuel. We’re so glad to have you back. 💙

Students recently came together in the school library for a friendly chess competition, spending the afternoon practicing strategy, concentration, and teamwork. 📚

Activities like Chess Club give students the opportunity to build confidence, connect with each other, and enjoy structured time outside the classroom in a safe and supportive environment. 👏

Moments like these are an important part of school life, helping students feel engaged, settled, and excited to learn each day. 💙

✨ Saturday night was an extraordinary reminder of what’s possible when a community comes together around education and opportunity. ✨

Together, we raised $6.2 million at the School for Life Gala Ball, the most successful in our history. 👏

The evening was filled with generosity, connection and a shared belief in creating brighter futures for children in Uganda, including women and girls.

One of the most powerful moments came from Diana, who shared her journey from studying by candlelight to now pursuing her dream of studying law so she can become a Parliamentarian and change the status quo for women in Uganda. Her story was a reminder of why our work matters so much and the life-changing impact education can have not just on the life of an individual, but on a family, a community and a nation. 🙌

A sincere thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, partnered with us and celebrated alongside us.

Special thanks to our Presenting Partner ProForce, and to Hamish Blake OAM for once again bringing such generosity, humour and energy to the evening. 💙

This milestone belongs to our incredible community of supporters who continue to believe in the power of education to change lives. Thank you. 🥰
