⚠️ POWER OUTAGE UPDATE ⚠️

Cronulla High School is currently affected by a suburb-wide power outage.

As a result, the school currently has no power and is unable to receive incoming phone calls.

Ausgrid is aware of the outage and is working to resolve the issue, with power currently expected to be restored by approximately 4:30pm today.

9MAT1 putting their trigonometry skills to the test with the Trigonometry Pile Up.
A great problem-solving activity that challenged students to apply their knowledge, make connections between multiple right-angled triangles and determine the appropriate trigonometric ratio at each stage.
Lots of mathematical thinking and persistence as students worked through the task In groups. Problem solving isn’t about knowing the answer straight away, but being willing to try different approaches, learn from mistakes and keep going.

Our Yarn Up students were proud to attend the annual Deadly Choices Cronulla Sharks First Nations Community Day and Captains Run in celebration of Indigenous Round.
It was a deadly day connecting with community, celebrating culture and watching the Sharks complete their final preparations at Ocean Protect Stadium all while reinforcing the importance of health and wellbeing for our mob.
A powerful reminder that strong culture, strong community and good health belong on the same team! 🦈

At the start of this term, Cronulla High School proudly celebrated NAIDOC Week with a powerful day of culture, connection and community. Our Yarn Up students invited a friend to stand alongside them, share in the experience and deepen their understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
Together, students participated in a meaningful Smoking Ceremony, sound therapy and a Yarning Circle—creating space for reflection, learning and genuine connection.
We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to celebrate, honour and strengthen Indigenous culture at Cronulla High School. 🖤💛❤️

Our First Nations senior boys have completed an unforgettable week of work experience in collaboration with the Eastern Beaches Area Command, NSW Police Force. Throughout the week, the boys participated in cultural activities, police fitness testing, recruitment presentations, swim rescue and an inspiring Q&A panel. They also experienced behind-the-scenes tours of the Water Police and Mounted Police, connected with Rabbitohs players and attended a major Police and Emergency Services Expo at Auburn PCYC.
The program culminated in a memorable visit to the NSW Police Academy in Goulburn where the students attended an Attestation Parade, toured the training facilities, experienced life on campus and proudly graduated from the ‘You should be a Cop’ program.
This initiative provided our boys with authentic insight into the diverse career pathways available within the NSW Police Force while strengthening their confidence, leadership, cultural connection and aspirations for the future.
We are incredibly proud of the maturity, respect and enthusiasm they demonstrated throughout the entire program. A heartfelt thank you to the Eastern Beaches Police Area Command, PCYC and Natalie Hyland for making this happen for our students.
What an empowering and potentially life-changing opportunity for these outstanding young men! We are pretty proud of them🖤💛❤️

🏉 9TH IN NSW! 🏉

Last week, our Open Girls Touch Football Team travelled to the Central Coast to compete in the NSW CHS State finals Series finishing an outstanding 9th in the state!
Facing some exceptionally talented teams, including several sports high schools, our girls held their own, competing with determination, courage and pride in every match. With such a young squad, this experience has given us plenty to be excited about for the future!
We also bid a very special farewell to our wonderful Year 12 student, Tegan Boyce who led the team with pride, composure and maturity beyond her years. Tegan has been a true role model for our younger players, and her leadership will leave a lasting impression on the team.
A massive shout-out must also go to Mr Stone, who coached the girls with kindness, encouragement and exactly the right amount of competitive tenacity. His thoughtful leadership brought out the very best in the team—even if some of the tactical planning required the use of Charlotte’s lollies!

Last week, our Year 12 HSC Dance students completed their HSC Dance Practical Examination.

Their commitment, creativity and professionalism throughout the preparation process has been outstanding, and they should be incredibly proud of what they achieved.

A special thank you to our Dance teachers, Mrs Hofman and Mrs Millington, for their guidance, encouragement and support over the last six years, as well as to our Dance students who performed the compositions, for their contribution and support throughout the preparation process. Thank you also to the families and wider school community for supporting our Dance students on their HSC journey.

Well done, Year 12 Dance. One major milestone complete!
