Breath & Movement Workshop – What It’s About

This workshop is designed to help you become calmer, stronger, and more in control in the surf.

We combine breathwork + movement training specifically for surfers to improve performance, confidence, and recovery.

Led by:
Matt Grainger – trained apnea instructor and well-renowned big wave surfer
Scott Romain – big wave surfer and expert in sound healing using breath-driven instruments



What you’ll learn:
• How to control your breath under pressure (hold-downs, wipeouts, big surf)
• Techniques to stay calm and focused in heavy situations
• Movement patterns to improve your pop-up, flow, and mobility
• How to reduce tension and move more efficiently on your board
• Simple tools you can use before, during, and after your surf



Why it matters:

Most surfers panic when things get heavy—not because of skill, but because of breathing and tension.

When you control your breath → you control your mind
When you control your mind → you control your surfing



Who it’s for:
• Surfers wanting more confidence in bigger waves
