Our little learners have been exploring how food grows! 🌱
The children learned about the growing process of plants and had the opportunity to observe the different stages of growth firsthand. Through hands-on experiences, they are developing an understanding of where our food comes from while building patience, curiosity, and a love for nature. 🌿💚

For dental health week, we were so lucky to welcome Green Group Luca’s dad, Brandon, an orthodontist, who taught the children how to care for their teeth. 🦷✨
The children enjoyed a fun game learning which foods are good for healthy teeth and which are best enjoyed in moderation. Brandon also generously provided each child with a dental care pack to take home.

Over the course of July, our preschool children enjoyed a wonderful excursion to a local café, where they had the opportunity to practise café etiquette in a real-life setting. From greeting staff politely and waiting patiently to using good table manners and making thoughtful choices, the children developed valuable social and life skills. Experiences like these help build confidence, independence, communication skills, and an understanding of how to be respectful members of their community. At Neutral Bay Kindergarten, we believe meaningful learning happens beyond the classroom, creating authentic experiences that prepare children for everyday life. ☕💛

Our preschool children have been busy learning about the food growing process. They enjoyed exploring vegetables and carefully taking out the seeds from inside them. The children will plant the seeds in our garden and watch them grow over time. This hands-on activity helps them understand where food comes from and encourages a love of nature.

We were so lucky to have Taronga Zoo visit us today, bringing some incredible animals for an up-close learning experience. A huge thank you to Elder Uncle Col, whose wonderful children’s music and storytelling created the perfect blend of culture, music, and wildlife.
Our children were captivated, curious, and full of smiles as they explored, sang, and learned together. What a memorable experience for everyone! 💚✨

🌏 Protecting Our Planet 🌊

The children continue to show a strong interest in ocean animals and their natural environment. Through group discussions, they explored the impact of ocean pollution and shared ideas about how we can help protect sea creatures and our planet.

To extend their learning, the children participated in a hands-on "Can You Clean the Oil?" experience, investigating the challenges of cleaning polluted water and the importance of caring for our environment.

Together, we are learning that even small actions can make a big difference for our oceans and wildlife. 🐢🐠💙

The children celebrated World Turtle Day by creating their own turtle habitat using turtles, sand, shells, and a variety of sea animals. Through imaginative play and hands-on exploration, the children learned about turtles and their ocean environment while developing creativity, communication, and collaborative skills.

It was wonderful to see the children working together to design a safe and welcoming habitat for the turtles and discussing what turtles need to survive and thrive in the wild.
