π§©π’ From Puzzles to Building Towers! π’π§©
We love seeing where a childβs imagination can take an experience!
What began as a literacy and numeracy puzzle quickly transformed into an exciting construction experience when one of our clever little learners discovered that the puzzle pieces also made fantastic building blocks!
Carefully balancing and stacking each piece, she created an impressive tower while exploring concepts such as shape, size, balance, spatial awareness, and problem-solving.
Experiences like this are a beautiful example of child-led learning, where children take familiar resources and discover entirely new ways to explore, create, and learn.
And just look at how proud she is of her creation! That smile says it all!
These moments remind us that learning doesnβt always happen as we initially plan.
Sometimes, the most meaningful learning happens when we give children the freedom to follow their curiosity and see where it takes them.

π©βπ³π§ Mini Master Chefs in the Making! π§π¨βπ³
Our Nursery and Toddler 1 children put on their chef costumes and rolled up their sleeves for a very special Culinary Class, baking some delicious Mixed Berry Muffins!
Our littlest chefs had so much fun getting hands-on with the ingredients, helping to scoop, pour, mix and stir as they worked together to create their yummy muffins.
Culinary experiences are a wonderful way for even our youngest learners to explore through their senses, develop fine motor skills and coordination, practise turn-taking, and begin building an understanding of food and cooking.
Most importantly, there was plenty of excitement as the children discovered that all their mixing and creating resulted in something delicious to enjoy!
There is nothing quite as adorable as our Mini Master Chefs dressed for the occasion and proudly baking up a storm!
Well done, Nursery and Toddler 1, we hope those Mixed Berry Muffins tasted as delicious as they looked!

Our Centre was filled with music, movement, and smiles as every room enjoyed an exciting session with Musical Minds!
The children sang, danced, explored a variety of musical instruments, and moved their bodies to different rhythms and beats in an engaging, interactive experience.
From shaking and tapping instruments to clapping, jumping, and dancing along, every child had the opportunity to express themselves through music.
Music and movement experiences support childrenβs language development, listening skills, coordination, confidence, creativity, and social connections, while encouraging active participation and plenty of fun.
It was wonderful to see the children laughing, working together, and building confidence as they explored the joy of making music.
A big thank you to the Musical Minds team for another fantastic incursion that had everyone singing, dancing, and learning together!

π¨π Creating Art Together! ππ¨
There is something extra special about creating a masterpiece together!
Our children came together for a wonderful collaborative art experience, using paint rollers and a variety of bright colours to transform one large canvas into a shared work of art.
As they rolled, mixed and layered the colours, the children explored cause and effect, colour mixing, patterns, and different ways of making marks.
Working around the table together also encouraged turn-taking, communication, cooperation, and an awareness of the space and ideas of others.
Collaborative experiences like this remind our children that art isnβt always about the finished product, itβs about exploring, experimenting, and enjoying the process together.
Every child contributed their own unique marks, creating something that belonged to the whole group.
A beautiful celebration of creativity, teamwork, and learning through play!

ππ§Έπ€ PJ Week at Green Leaves Craigieburn! π€π§Έπ
What could be better than coming to childcare in your PJs?!
This week, our children and Educators joined in the fun of PJ Week! From fluffy dressing gowns and favourite pyjamas to slippers, onesies and cuddly bedtime friends, we loved seeing everyone arrive ready for a week of comfy fun!
Throughout the week, our rooms incorporated PJ and bedtime themes into their learning through stories, imaginative play, creative experiences, group discussions, and plenty of cosy moments together.
PJ Week also provided a wonderful opportunity to talk about sleep, rest, and healthy bedtime routines, helping children understand how rest supports our bodies as we grow, learn, play, and feel our best.
Of course, the biggest highlight was simply the excitement of wearing our pyjamas to childcare and sharing lots of smiles and laughter with our friends!
Thank you to all of our families and Educators for getting involved and making PJ Week such a fun and memorable one!

π World Kindness Week π
This week, we're celebrating World Kindness Week by exploring how small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
Our Nursery children enjoyed a hands-on playdough experience with rolling pins, cutters, and natural loose parts, such as beautiful flowers.
As they created together, they practised sharing, taking turns, encouraging one another, and showing kindness through their words and actions.
These simple play experiences help children develop important social and emotional skills while reminding us that kindness can be expressed in many ways, through helping hands, kind words, and thoughtful gestures.
Kindness grows when we share it. We can't wait to see how our little learners continue spreading kindness throughout their days in care!

ππΌ Kindness Week, Friendship Begins in Nursery πΌπ
Kindness has no age, and these two little besties are proof that the sweetest friendships can begin from the very start.
Over the last few weeks, weβve loved watching this beautiful friendship blossom in our Nursery.
Every day, they seek each other out to play, share smiles and cuddles, and explore the world side by side. But perhaps the most heartwarming moment comes at home time, when they stop to wave goodbye, blow kisses, and share one last cuddle before heading home.
These simple acts of kindness and affection are so meaningful. Through everyday interactions like playing together, showing empathy, and caring for one another, children begin developing the social and emotional skills that lay the foundation for positive relationships throughout life.
It is such a privilege to witness these special moments and see genuine friendships already forming at such a young age. They truly remind us that kindness, connection, and belonging start from the very beginning.
Happy Kindness Week!

π₯ Chicken Hatching Project Update! π₯
Our fluffy little chicks have settled in beautifully, and today we were treated to the sweetest sight. They all snuggled together in a perfect circle under the heat lamp for a cosy nap!
The children have loved checking in on the chicks throughout the day, quietly observing their behaviours and noticing how they instinctively stay close together to keep warm and feel safe.
These real-life experiences provide wonderful opportunities for children to learn about animal care, life cycles, habitats, and the unique behaviours of living creatures.
There have been so many conversations filled with curiosity as the children share their observations, ask thoughtful questions, and watch the chicks become more active and confident each day.
We have loved watching our little feathered friends grow over the last two weeks before they head off to their forever homes with some of our wonderful Green Leaves families. π£
