Our Year 11 VCE Work Related Skills students recently visited RMIT University to explore campus facilities and learn about a range of further education and training pathways.

Students experience of a post-secondary education environment and explored exploring their future education and career pathways.

Last term, Year 8 student Alak advanced to the Interschool Northern Metropolitan Region Track & Field competition.

Alak had an outstanding showing at the event, placing 2nd and 4th overall respectively in the Under 14 Girl’s 200m and 100m sprints.

To mark the end of their secondary education, our VCE VM students made their way to and Archie Brothers Docklands for one final excursion.

Students spent the morning ice skating before making their way over to District Docklands for a fun time together at the arcade.

On Friday our Year 12 VCE students started their trial exam period, starting with English.

These trial exams help our Year 12 VCE students best prepare them for their upcoming exams in October, arming them with vital experience and feedback they can use for their revision.

Our Year 11 and 12 VCE Vocational Major students recently had the opportunity to participate in the Real Industry Job Interviews program as part of their studies.

Through this program, students had the opportunity to experience the entire job application process from start to finish.

Students completed the program by participating in a mock job interview held by volunteers across a vast range of industries at Broadmeadows Town Hall.

For two weeks, a group of Year 9 students were selected to participate in this year’s Victorian Young Leaders to China virtual program.

Students had the opportunity to immerse themselves in Chinese language learning, exploring language and culture in more depth through virtual trips to China.

During the program, students also had the chance to head into Melbourne C*D, participating in an Amazing Race style excursion, exploring Chinatown and the Museum of Chinese Australian History.

As part of our Book Week celebration, groups of Year 7-10 students participated in a graphic storytelling incursion by artist, writer and graphic novelist .

Throughout the session students worked through a series of exercises to find their voice using a visual narrative.

Mirranda encouraged students to discover the magic in the everyday and find stories where they might not have seen them before.

As part of National Bullying Week earlier this term, our Year 7 cohort was visited by Backflips Against Bullying.

Addressing bullying on a social level, the incursion empowers students to hold each other accountable and promotes positive relationships within our school community.

Students were able to reflect on the importance of kindness and their actions, engaging with the content through the dynamic acrobatic storytelling.

Happy Book Week!

To celebrate 2026 Book Week and its theme, Symphony of Stories, last week students had the opportunity to participate in a variety of themed activities.

During lunchtimes, students were able to ‘Read it! And Chill’ in themed genre nests, create a ‘Rep it! Book Badge’ or ‘Crank it!’ by composing a hole punch song and playing it on the hole punch music box.

Throughout the week students also participated in Book Recommendation Bingo and our annual Bookmark Design Competition for a chance at winning prizes, as well as an opportunity to have their bookmark design professionally printed.
