With Father's Day just around the corner, we thought it would be great to revisit the fun we had during "Bring A Bloke Week" last year. 🕺

To the dads, granddads, brothers, and mentors who inspire us and keep us laughing—this week is all about you. Thank you for making our world a brighter place. 💜

Here's a sneak peek of the fun and giggles our special guests had:

💃✨ Dance: Where the Athlete Meets the Artist

At CBS this magic unfolds every week within our studio walls. Dance teaches your child to be strong, coordinated, flexible and focused - just like any elite athlete. But it also gives them the freedom to be creative, expressive and completely themselves — just like any artist.

For our local country families, our studio is more than just a place for lessons. It's a warm, welcoming space to connect, belong and share in something positive close to home. We are so proud to bring lifelong friends, stage opportunities, and a whole lot of fun to Cowra.

Whether your child is leaping across the studio, tapping in the kitchen or dancing their heart out on stage, they are doing more than moving. They are growing stronger, braver and more connected with every class.

If your child loves to move, dance could be the place where their athlete and artist meet.

💫 Enrolments are now open. 💫

🕺CBS Traditions: Bring a Bloke Week 🕺

At CBS, dance has always been about more than steps, technique and classes. It’s about family, community, memories — and the moments that make everyone laugh long after class is over.

Each year, we invite the special grown-ups in our dancers’ lives to step into the studio and join the fun. We celebrate our ladies during Lead a Lady Week, and of course, we couldn’t forget the blokes!

For many years, dads, uncles, grandfathers, brothers and other special men have bravely swapped the sidelines for the studio floor, put on their dancing shoes, and joined their dancer in class. There are always plenty of giggles, a few surprise moves, and those classic “what happens in class stays in class” moments.
And honestly? We love it. 🕺

There’s nothing quite like watching our dancers share their world with the blokes who cheer them on every week — whether it’s a proud dad giving a plié a go, a grandfather joining in with a big smile, or an uncle doing his very best to keep up.
No matter what it looks like, it always becomes a beautiful CBS memory.

A big round of applause to every bloke who has joined in over the years. You are true team players, and our dancers absolutely love having you there.

Our next Bring a Bloke Week will be held from Monday, 31 August.

So Cowra blokes, this is your official invitation: come along, have a laugh, make a memory and join the fun.

We promise your dancer will love it — and we’ll do our best not to share too many dance-floor secrets. 💜

💜 Wiggles World of Dance Class Times at CBS 💜

Starting a new dance class is a big little moment.

For a preschooler, walking into the studio for the first time can feel exciting, new, busy and sometimes a little overwhelming. There might be a little hand held tightly at the door, a quiet pause before joining in, or a child who simply wants to watch from the side until they feel ready. And that is completely okay.

At CBS, we understand that every child settles in differently. Some dancers run straight towards the music, some need a few cuddles first, and some take their time getting to know the room, the teacher and the other children. Our teachers gently support each child at their own pace with warm welcomes, familiar routines, simple instructions, encouragement, patience and plenty of smiles.

Our The Wiggles World of Dance preschool classes invite children into a joyful world of music, imagination and movement. Backed by The Wiggles, this program blends early learning with entertainment in a way that feels familiar, trusted and exciting for young children and their families.

There is no pressure to be perfect or to join in all at once. Instead, we help each little dancer feel safe, included and proud of every brave step — whether that step is walking into the studio, copying a movement, clapping along to the music, or joining the group for the very first time.

These classes are a beautiful way for preschool children to build confidence, coordination, listening skills, friendships and a sense of belonging in a warm, supportive local studio community.

Class times:

✨ Monday — Studio 1
Wiggles World of Dance A
Preschool | 4:00–4:45pm

✨ Tuesday — Studio 2
Wiggles World of Dance B
Preschool | 4:45–5:30pm

If your little one is brand new to dance, feeling a little unsure, or already wiggling with excitement, we would love to welcome your family into our CBS community. We will help them settle, find their confidence and enjoy the magic of movement in their own time.

Throwback time… and this one is a little bit wild! 🦁✨

Back in 2022, CBS brought the zoo to Cowra with our colourful, cheeky and joy-filled production, Zoo York — and what a roar-some time it was!

For a few hours, the stage was full of bright costumes, big characters, acting, dancing, music, giggles, proud smiles and plenty of animal energy. From tiny dancers finding their brave to our older students leading the way, every performer helped bring this fun little zoo adventure to life.

We still love remembering the backstage buzz, the costume excitement, the family cheers, the laughter, the nerves, the big stage smiles and those special CBS moments that make concert time so memorable.

We hope you enjoy this fun flashback to Zoo York — a wild little memory we’ll always treasure. 💛🦁🐾

🎶✨ When the music tells the story

One of the moments we love seeing in the studio is when our students begin to really listen to the music, not just count the steps.

In those early lessons, your child is often focused on where their feet land, which arm comes next, when to turn or when to travel. That is all part of learning. But as they grow, we witness a beautiful shift — the moment they begin to feel the music instead of just following it.

That is where the storytelling begins.

A soft melody might guide a dancer's move with gentle grace, while a stronger beat might spark a sudden surge of confidence and energy. Even a quiet pause in a song can give your child a moment to breathe, stand still and let the audience feel something with them.

In dance, we call this musicality. It simply means learning how to connect movement with the music. It helps our students with timing, rhythm, expression and confidence. It is one of the beautiful ways they grow from learning steps to trusting themselves as performers.

At CBS, we love helping our students discover how to listen with their whole body. Not to be perfect or to impress, but to connect. Because when your child begins to dance with the music, their movement becomes more honest, more confident and more their own.

Next time you watch your child dance, listen closely. You may notice the moment they are not just doing the steps anymore - they are telling you something through the music? 💛✨

✨Our Incredible Teachers ✨

Our journey at CBS is defined by the extraordinary teachers who pour their hearts into our studio every single day. Their dedication, passion, and relentless drive don’t just teach dance—they truly transform the lives of every student who walks through our doors, shaping who they become both on and off the stage.

What makes CBS truly remarkable, especially here in our close-knit country town, is the incredible wealth of experience our teachers bring to the studio. Our team is a beautiful mix of inspiring current students and accomplished former students. Our former students have chased big dreams across the Central West, while others have performed in major productions locally and globally—gracing international cruise ships and world-class stages. We are also incredibly proud to have teachers who honed their craft at prestigious institutions like Sydney's Brent Street, reaching the absolute heights of formal dance education.

Driven by a deep love for their roots, they choose to come home, bringing that wealth of global experience and artistry back to the community where it all began. By passing this knowledge down to the next generation, they are continuing a beautiful lasting legacy—one that constantly inspires our dancers to dream without limits, knowing that the world is their oyster. 💜

✨ Celebrating Eisteddfod Season ✨

We’re just over halfway through the year, and the next few weeks are full of eisteddfod excitement for our CBS dancers.

From Cowra to Forbes and Orange to Bathurst, and all the rehearsals in between, we have loved watching this season unfold - the early mornings, late-night practices, packed dance bags, proud smiles and a whole lot of CBS community spirit.

So we put together a little something to celebrate everyone behind each performance: our dancers who keep showing up and giving their best, our teachers who guide and encourage them, our backstage helpers, and our parents who somehow become taxi drivers, hair stylists, costume managers and the biggest cheer squad all at once.

Eisteddfods are about more than steps on a stage. They are about courage, teamwork, commitment, friendship and learning to be proud of the work you put in.

To our CBS dancers and families—we see the effort and the dedication, and we are so proud of you. 💜

Here’s to celebrating eisteddfod season, our CBS community, and all the beautiful moments still to come. ✨

✨ The Little Moments That Make the Stage So Special ✨

Every concert season, there is always one moment that quietly stays with us.

It happens backstage, just before the curtain opens. Costumes are on, shoes are checked, hair is fixed, and there is sparkle on little cheeks and butterflies in little tummies. Some dancers are buzzing with excitement. Some are quiet, taking it all in. Some are holding a friend’s hand, and some are taking one last deep breath before stepping into the lights.

Then the music begins.

And suddenly, all those weeks of practising become something real. Your child is not just performing a routine. They are standing a little taller, finding their courage, trusting themselves and discovering that they can do something big, even when it feels a little scary.

For parents, these are the moments that catch in your throat. Watching your child walk onto that stage—brave, proud, nervous, excited—is a reminder of just how much they are growing. Not only as dancers, but as people.

Here in Cowra, those stage moments feel even more meaningful because they are shared with a community that genuinely cares. Proud parents and grandparents watching on, siblings cheering loudly, teachers peeking from the wings, and familiar local faces clapping for every dancer who has the courage to step out and shine.

The stage experience is so much more than one performance. It is the practising at home, the costume excitement, the backstage nerves, the friendships, the applause, the proud hugs afterwards and that tiny smile that says, “I did it.”

And long after the music ends, what stays is not just the dance. It is the feeling — the pride, the courage, the love in the room, and the beautiful reminder that our children are growing in front of us, one brave little moment at a time. 💛✨
