✨ A little Science Week magic! 🔬🌱

There was such a wonderful sense of wonder in the air as Prep M and 3/4D joined forces for National Science Week.

Our Prep students loved learning alongside their older buddies, exploring, questioning and discovering together. Just as special was seeing our 3/4 students step up with such patience, enthusiasm and confidence, sharing what they know and helping our youngest learners make new discoveries.

✨ Step Into Prep at Kalbar State School! ✨

Our 2027 Step Into Prep sessions are about to begin, and we can’t wait to welcome our newest little learners and their families to Kalbar State School.

If your child is starting Prep in 2027, now is a great time to enrol. Completing enrolment before our Step Into Prep sessions commence means your child can make the most of these opportunities to become familiar with our school, meet staff, explore the Prep environment and begin building confidence before their first big day.

At Kalbar, we are proud to offer strong foundations in literacy and numeracy, a rigorous and engaging curriculum, technology-rich learning, community experiences, The Arts and Rock Band opportunities, and a caring small-school community where children are known and valued.

Enrolments for Prep 2027 are still open.

We are also now commencing enrolments for 2028, so families planning ahead are warmly encouraged to get in touch and start the conversation early.

💜 Purple Day at Kalbar 💜

Last Friday, 14th August, Kalbar State School turned purple as we recognised the National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence.

Our students and staff wore purple as a reminder that we all have a role to play in creating a school where everyone feels safe, respected and included.

It was great to see so many of our students getting involved and standing together with a simple message…kindness and respect matter, every day. 💜

From 15–23 August, we’re celebrating curiosity, discovery and the joy of asking “Why?” and “What if?”

This year’s theme, Seeds of Science, reminds us that every big discovery starts with a small idea. We’re looking forward to seeing our Kalbar students explore, investigate, experiment and grow their scientific thinking throughout the week!
