🔬 Science Week at Preschool! 🌱National Science Week

This week, the children will have the opportunity to create their very own terrarium!

Through this hands-on STEM experience, children will explore plant growth, caring for living things and the water cycle while developing skills in observation, prediction, problem-solving and critical thinking! 🌿🔍 Australian Science Teachers Association

📚 A great start to our Book Week (or rather, Book Month!) celebrations! 📚

We've loved sharing some of the children's favourite stories and hearing why these books are so special to them and their families. It's been wonderful to celebrate the joy of reading together and the special memories that books help create.

We can't wait to share more favourite books and literacy experiences throughout the month! ❤️📖

Celebrating NAIDOC Week

This week at preschool, we celebrated NAIDOC Week, which fell during the school holidays.

While Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives are embedded throughout our program all year round as part of our commitment to providing a holistic and inclusive educational environment, NAIDOC Week provides an opportunity to place an even greater focus on these perspectives. Through stories, art, music, yarning, and hands-on learning experiences, we encouraged children to think, question, explore, and develop a deeper understanding of the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

🌾📚 Thank You, George the Farmer! 📚🌾

A huge thank you to the George the Farmer team (Rabobank) for the amazing collection of books we received through the 2026 George the Farmer Book Competition!

A very special thank you also goes to one of our wonderful preschool parents, for entering Corowa Preschool into the competition. We are so grateful for your support.

Our children were so excited to open the box and discover all the wonderful stories inside. The books arrived at the perfect time, extending our recent conversations about farming and where our food comes from, along with our upcoming Book Week celebrations.

Thank you for creating such engaging resources that foster a love of Australian agriculture and storytelling George the Farmer. 🌱🚜💚

📚 Welcome Back to Term 3! 📚

Our team enjoyed a productive set up day on Friday, reflecting on literacy and sharing new story experiences created by staff over the term break. We're excited to inspire a lifelong love of reading!

✨ This August, we'll be celebrating Book Week all month long! Each child will take home a special Book Week bag to share their favourite story with their family and classmates.
