What a fantastic Book Week we’re having! Our children and Educators have loved dressing up as their favourite book characters and bringing their favourite stories to life.

There have been plenty of smiles, creativity and imagination as we celebrate the magic of books together. We’ve loved seeing everyone get into the spirit of Book Week

Flanno for Farmers Day!

Today at Corowa Kids, we proudly supported Aussie farmers by raising money for the Angel Farmers initiative. Everyone was encouraged to wear their favourite flanno and bring along a gold coin donation.

The children had a wonderful time taking part in a variety of fun farm-themed activities.

We also held our Guess the amount of Lollies in the Jar competition, with the lucky winner drawn today!

A huge congratulations to Bree, who was our lucky winner!

Thank you to all our families for getting involved, dressing up in their flannos and helping us support our farmers.

Our preschoolers have been focusing on playing group games, and we’re seeing so many wonderful benefits along the way.

Group games help children learn to take turns, listen to others, cooperate and support their teammates. They’re also building resilience and perseverance by learning to stay engaged, see a game through to the end and celebrate each other’s efforts.

Most importantly, it’s about having fun. Through play, children are developing important social skills, building confidence and learning that being part of a team can be rewarding and joyful.

At Corowa Kids, we give our educators a fun challenges to keep them inspired, motivated, and full of fresh ideas for the children.

Last week's challenge was all about movement! Our educators found plenty of creative ways to get everyone moving.

Movement is such an important part of early childhood, helping to develop gross motor skills, coordination, balance, confidence, and overall wellbeing. It also supports children's social skills, encourages teamwork, and provides wonderful opportunities for learning through play.

Here are just a few of the fun ways we embraced movement throughout the week!

At Corowa Kids, we understand the importance of taking a holistic approach to children's learning, including helping them feel safe, confident, and prepared in emergency situations.

Each month, our educators practise emergency evacuation drills with the children. This week, we took a different approach by inviting the children to lead the discussion. Together, we explored what to do in an emergency, what evacuation drills look like through their eyes, and gathered their ideas and feedback. Their wonderful thoughts are now proudly displayed throughout our hallways for everyone to enjoy and reflect on.

We also recognise the importance of community partnerships and have invited our local Fire team to visit our service, helping children build confidence and understanding through real-life connections.

We value the input of our families and believe that working together helps us create the safest possible environment for all children. If there are any emergency drills or safety topics you would like to see us explore, we'd love to hear from you. Please send your suggestions to [email protected].

Flanno for a Farmer Day at Corowa Kids

At Corowa Kids, we love giving back to our community

On Thursday, 14th August, we're holding a Flanno for a Farmer Day and inviting all children and educators to wear their favourite flanno and bring along a gold coin donation.

We'll also be running a "Guess the Number of Lollies in the Jar" competition in our reception, with all proceeds going to Farm Angels to help support Aussie farming families doing it tough.

Every gold coin makes a difference, and together we can show our support for those who work so hard to put food on our tables.

Thank you for helping us make a positive impact in our community.

Science + Curious Minds = So Much Fun!

Our Preschool children have been having a blast exploring science through exciting hands-on experiences every day! From fizzing, bubbling and mixing to investigating and experimenting, there's always something new to discover.

Science helps children:
- Ask questions and explore ideas
- Think, predict and solve problems
- Discover how the world works
- Build confidence through hands-on learning

Who knows... we might just have a few future scientists in our Preschool!

Special Visitors for Polly & Molly!

Today we were lucky to welcome the wonderful team from Corowa Vets, including Vet Amy, who also happens to be one of our amazing Corowa Kids parents to give our much-loved goats, Polly and Molly, a health check.

Amy carefully listened to their hearts, checked their eyes and gums, and gave them a thorough check-up to make sure they are happy and healthy. The children were fascinated to watch and learn about what a veterinarian does and how important it is to care for animals.

Experiences like these help children develop empathy, responsibility, and an understanding of the importance of looking after our pets and farm animals. A big thank you to Amy and the team at Corowa Vets for taking the time to visit us and help keep Polly and Molly in tip-top shape!
