🔭⚛Science Week at St Joseph's

🌟Some of our Year 4 students have been putting their engineering skills to the test with GraviTrax, an innovative marble run system that combines creativity, problem-solving and STEAM learning.

Working enthusiastically during their lunch breaks, students designed and built their own tracks while exploring concepts such as gravity, forces and momentum. Their impressive creations were recently showcased in the library, giving others the opportunity to see their ingenuity and perseverance in action.

What a wonderful example of students learning, collaborating and innovating beyond the classroom! Thank you Mrs Fowler for all you do for our students!🚀🎢

Congratulations to Mrs Cathy Gleeson, who was honoured as a recipient of the inaugural Keith Druery Award at a special ceremony last Sunday. This prestigious award recognises Mrs Gleeson’s many years of dedicated service and commitment to the Queensland Catholic Schools and Colleges Music Festival (QCMF).

The QCMF we know and celebrate today began through the vision of Keith Druery, whose legacy continues to inspire young musicians across Queensland.

Thank you, Mrs Gleeson, for the significant role you have played in shaping St Joseph’s instrumental music program and for your ongoing contribution to fostering excellence, opportunity, and community through music. Your dedication has had a lasting impact on countless students and the wider music community. 🎶👏🏆

🎶 St Joseph’s shines at the Queensland Catholic Music Festival! 🎶

Congratulations to our talented students who proudly represented St Joseph’s at QCMF on Friday. Our Junior Choir performed beautifully at St James Church and was awarded Silver, while our Mancini Band delivered an outstanding performance at Villanova and received Gold.
A very special thank you to Mrs Cummings and Miss Lane for their dedication and preparation, and to our wonderful volunteers for their support. We are so proud of the time, effort and enthusiasm our students brought to this special music event.

Today we celebrate the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary - a feast observed since the 6th century.

We give thanks for Mary our Mother in faith, a luminous model of trust and obedience.

📍Preps have been out and about - exploring our local community!

⛪🛒Each Prep class took turns to venture out of the school gates and visit St Joseph's Church to learn about its history, enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of Coles to see how food is prepared, whilst waving hello to local businesses along the way!👋 Finishing with a visit to Corinda Library, students enjoyed a story and learnt how to borrow and return books.📚

What a fantastic way to learn, discover, and connect with our community!

Hands on with Make&Meld at St Joseph's

Year 6 were creative today, bringing their learning about the Sun, Earth and Moon to life! 🌏☀️🌙
There was plenty of hammering, drilling, designing, painting and focused concentration as students created their own solar system dioramas. This engaging incursion supported our Year 6 science learning, encouraging students to explore space, movement, gravity and the wonder of our created universe.

A wonderful day of creativity, curiosity and learning in action! ✨

Catholic Education Week at St Joseph's

🔥We celebrated the theme “Share your light, Inspire Others," inspired by Jesus' words in Matthew 5:14–16: “You are the light of the world… let your light shine before others.” Our students are shining God’s light and inspiring others to do the same, helping to build a community grounded in faith, hope, and love.
