Last week, a group of Primary students competed at the CSSA State Athletics Carnival!

Congratulations to Year 6 students Alexa, Neve and Kate, who qualified for the CIS Athletics Carnival! Well done to Alexa who also broke the CSSA State Record in the 11 Years Girls 1500m.

During our recent staff professional development week, several of our executive staff participated in a subject intensive run by the National Institute for Christian Education (NICE).

This formed part of the subject "A Biblical Vision for Christian School Leadership", as our staff discussed how they can sharpen their own leadership skills by examining academic and biblical perspectives of being a leader.

After a term of training, last week, six teams of four students, as well as two individuals, were locked down for two hours as they completed their Global Issues Problem Solving qualifying booklets.

Students have been researching the impacts of video gaming from a wide variety of perspectives, and were faced with a future scene set in the year 2056.

Students worked together to read, identify and write up 16 challenges, determine an underlying problem, write 16 solutions, write their own criteria, judge their solutions and write up an Action Plan, displaying fantastic teamwork and time management. Watch this space in September as we await the results and any invitations to the Australian Future Problem Solving Championships in Melbourne.
