390km. 24 hours. Hundreds of laps. One important cause.

Year 12 student Harvey has completed an incredible 24-hour ride to raise awareness of youth mental health and support the work of Lifeline Australia.

Harvey began his ride at Murarrie Recreation Ground and, over the following 24 hours, rode more than 390km, completing hundreds of laps.

Throughout the night and into this morning, dozens of his Villa mates turned up to cheer him on, showing their support and helping keep him going through the long hours. They were there again as Harvey crossed the finish line.

Alongside raising awareness, the challenge also raised funds for Lifeline Australia and its important work supporting people experiencing emotional distress and crisis.

A remarkable effort by Harvey, and a wonderful example of our students supporting one another and using their determination to make a difference.💚💛

Villa Verve - only 2 weeks to go! 🎨 There is plenty to look forward to at Villa Verve on Friday 16 October, with an impressive collection of student artwork ready to be revealed in Goold Hall.

From drawing and painting to photography and other creative works, the exhibition is a wonderful opportunity to see the talent, imagination and different perspectives of our students.

And don’t forget to choose your favourite! Every guest will receive a red dot to cast their vote for the People’s Choice Award.

Raffle tickets will also be available on the night, with some great prizes up for grabs.

Come along, take your time, enjoy the exhibition and celebrate the creativity of our Villa students.

The second half of the AFAS Tour saw our pilgrims visit our sister school, La Consolacion College, Murcia, where our families sponsor several scholars. Welcomed with incredible warmth by the Augustinian Sisters, students experienced the joy, faith and hospitality that make this community so special.

Highlights included visiting sponsored families in their homes, teaching local students some Aussie games and dances, and spending time with deaf students at the Welcome Home Foundation. These encounters reminded us that true wealth is found not in what we have, but in what we share.

We return home inspired by the generosity, resilience and joy of the Filipino people, with hearts full of gratitude and a deeper commitment to living our faith through service.

Step Into the Spotlight - Shakespeare in Love Auditions!

Calling all boys and girls students currently in Years 8–11 who would like to take to the stage in next year’s Villanova College Senior Play, Shakespeare in Love!

Auditions: Wednesday, Week 1, Term 4
Time: 3.15–5.30pm | Location: G5, Drama Room under Goold Hall
This is a group audition, so please plan to stay for the entire session.

No previous acting experience is necessary - just bring your enthusiasm and give it a go! Rehearsals will be held on Wednesdays and Fridays after school during Term 4, then Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays during Term 1, as required. A full rehearsal schedule will be provided at the audition for students to review.

Importantly, auditioning does not mean you are committing to the production. Commitment is only required if you are offered a role and choose to accept it.

Our AFAS pilgrims have had an incredible start to their journey through the Philippines!

In Cebu, the boys completed a shift at the candle factory that produces Villanova's Mission Week candles, spent time in prayer with the cloistered sisters at St Rita Church, and purchased groceries to support our AFAS scholar families. Highlights included visits to the Basilica and the Kanan sa Niño Feeding Program, where students served members of the local community. The boys also enjoyed catching up with their buddies at the university and receiving a tour of the campus.

The group then travelled to Bacolod, where they were warmly welcomed by the Ati Indigenous community. Students learned about local culture through traditional weaving, dancing and games, while building meaningful connections with the community.

A journey filled with faith, service, learning and friendship so far, and we look forward to sharing more updates in the days ahead!

A huge congratulations to Villa Old Boy Will Mahoney and the Australian Gangurrus U23 3x3 Men’s Team, who have claimed bronze at the World Cup! 🇦🇺🏀

And what a way to finish! Our very own 2021 Old Boy stepped up when it mattered most, hitting the game-winning shot to secure the bronze medal for Australia.

What an incredible moment for Will and a fantastic achievement on the world stage.

That’s a wrap on Term 3! We hope everyone enjoys some time to relax, recharge and spend time with family and friends.

A special congratulations to all of our students who have completed their exams and assessments this term. Thank you for the effort and commitment you have put in!

And to our parents, teachers and staff, thank you for another busy and rewarding term. We appreciate all that you do for our students and our College community.

Congratulations to Luke S and Charlie B, both Year 9, who represented the ball kid squad at today’s Official Draw Ceremony for the international Davis Cup tennis tournament.

Luke and Charlie will volunteer across the weekend, supporting the Australian and Polish players on court as part of the ball kid squad.

The pair have also competed together in AIC Tennis for Villanova College for the past five years, developing their skills, confidence, mindset and understanding of the game along the way.

A fantastic experience for two dedicated young Villanovans. Well done Luke and Charlie!
