As preparations continue for the 2026 AFAS Immersion, our students have begun sending donations to the Philippines through a balikbayan box, sharing practical support and solidarity with communities they will encounter later this year.

The donations will be delivered to the community of La Consolacion College Murcia in Negros Occidental and are expected to arrive in September, around the same time as our students and staff. Led by Sr Nora OSA, the College serves a community that will warmly welcome our Villanovans during their immersion experience.

More than just a collection of goods, these donations represent a spirit of generosity, connection and shared humanity. We hope they bring joy to the recipients and strengthen the bonds between our two communities as we journey together in service and friendship. πŸ’šπŸ’›

Today, our Year 11 Accounting students had the opportunity to take their learning beyond the classroom with an engaging excursion to Pet City.

Students explored a diverse range of animals, including reptiles, insects, birds and fish, while gaining insight into the unique inventory management challenges involved in caring for such a wide variety of products and living assets.

David Loxton from Pet City also designed an interactive activity that brought the stages of the accounting process to life, with a particular focus on inventory management and real-world application.

A sincere thank you to David and the team at Pet City for sharing their expertise and providing our students with such an engaging and insightful learning experience.

With the generous support of the Villanova College P&F Association, this year our Time & Space evenings -Year 7 Mother and Son and Year 8 Father and Son- provided valuable opportunities for families to pause, connect and reflect during important stages of their son's journey at Villanova.

Across both evenings, hundreds of students and parents came together for meaningful conversations, shared experiences and moments of connection beyond the busyness of everyday life.

Facilitated by Rachel Dunstan from Time & Space, with support from our staff, student leaders and parent community, these sessions encouraged open conversations and strengthened the relationships that support our boys as they grow.

A sincere thank you to our Villanova College P&F Association for generously supporting these initiatives and helping make these meaningful experiences possible for our families. πŸ’šπŸ’›

Our Villanovans represented the College with enthusiasm, resilience and outstanding character at this week's Readers Cup hosted by our friends at Moreton Bay Girls College.

Competing alongside 26 teams, the boys embraced the challenge, demonstrated their love of reading, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience before returning to school to complete their exams.

While the competition itself was exciting, what stands out most is the commitment these students have made to reading. Choosing to read for pleasure is a habit that builds knowledge, imagination and lifelong learning.

Congratulations to all of our Readers Cup participants, and thank you to the families who encourage a love of reading at home. πŸ“š

Lights, camera, action! πŸŽ₯πŸ•ΊThis morning, Channel 9's TODAY Show visited Villanova College to film our Year 12 students as they put the finishing touches on their formal dance moves ahead of next week's Formal.

A special congratulations to Reid and Ronan, who did a fantastic job representing the College during their live interview with Karl Stefanovic and Sarah Abo.

While the dancing certainly made for great television, the story is about much more than learning a few steps. During our Wellbeing sessions, we encourage our young men to embrace new experiences, step outside their comfort zones, and challenge outdated stereotypes about what boys should or shouldn't do.

The boys are also learning that a Formal isn't just about having a great night themselves: it's about showing respect, confidence and consideration, helping to create a memorable experience for everyone they attend with.

We couldn't be prouder of the way our Year 12s represented themselves and the values of our College community this morning.πŸ’šπŸ’›

From little things big things grow.🌱
This is the hope of Villa’s Jarjum group, who have recently filled four disused bathtubs with 15 varieties of bush tucker. Not only is Jarjum seeking to liven up a secret corner of the College - where Mendel meets Cacsica - but the group also aims, through edible plants, to promote Indigenous knowledge, outdoor learning, and a welcoming space for contemplation.
A hopeful side venture will be the sale of surplus produce to the Hospitality Department, raising funds for future garden projects. Watch this space as we share the transformation of the Mendel Courtyard Bush Tucker Garden: from concrete to Country!🌿🌳

One step at a time, our Villanovans are making a difference.
To support Emmanuel City Mission's Night Sanctuary, students have been working to collectively match the incredible 2,550km journey completed by Robby Curtis, leader of Emmanuel City Mission, who has walked and run all the way to Alice Springs to raise funds and awareness for those experiencing homelessness.
A special shout-out to Leo (Year 8 ), who added 8km to our total with a walk around his neighbourhood on Wednesday.
Together, our students have now reached an impressive 1,045km of the 2,550km challenge. Keep walking, Villanovans!πŸ‘£πŸ‘

What a way to finish the 2026 Football season! Despite the relentless rain, the attitude, commitment and energy from our Villanova College A-Team players reached new heights as they wrapped up the season with a World Cup tournament that quickly became football in the mud, puddles and pouring rain - and the boys loved every minute of it. That is what football is all about!

This year has been about growth, standards, resilience, relationships and creating an environment where players can develop both on and off the pitch.

Through our collaboration with PRO-PLAYER Goalkeeper Academy, whose professional coaches now help lead and deliver our Football program, we are continuing to build an environment where players can develop, improve and enjoy the game. The introduction of a new football model across all age groups is an exciting step forward and will continue to inspire future success within the Villa program.

A huge thank you to every player for buying in, competing at every session and representing Villanova College with pride throughout the season. The future is bright. πŸ’šπŸ’›
