Day 14 πŸ“ Jordan Springs, NSW πŸ’™

I was a little nervous when I arrived at Jordan Springs today, but I really didn’t need to be! Lucy, Rose, Joni and Aidan made me feel right at home, and I got so many fist bumps and cuddles from the kids that I quickly felt like part of the crew.

One thing I noticed today is that Kip kids really look out for each other. It didn’t matter if someone was younger, older or in a different group β€” everyone encouraged each other.

Jack was feeling a bit nervous about his comprehension assessment when VJ called out from across the room, β€œYou’ve got this, Jack!” (Don’t worry, there was plenty of learning happening too! πŸ˜‚)

That made me feel better about asking questions when I wasn’t sure of something. Nobody cared if I didn’t know an answer or got something wrong β€” they just encouraged me to keep having a go.

I think that’s what’s pretty special about Kip. When you feel like you belong, it’s much easier to feel confident enough to learn. πŸ’™
And just when I thought my day couldn’t get any better, Tilly gave me a welcome present β€” her rare glow-in-the-dark Ooshie! It’s safely tucked in my pocket and coming on the rest of my adventures with me. πŸ₯Ή

Thanks for making me feel like one of the gang, Jordan Springs!

🐭 Day 13 for Monty – A Visit to Bossley Park!

Today I met Cindy and Nancy at Bossley Park. They were so welcoming and immediately made me feel like part of the group!
Cindy taught me some great spelling tricks, while Nancy helped me revisit the work on clocks that Miss Shannon showed me last week. Strangely, there was still no cheese o’clock on this one either! πŸ§€β°

I must have done some fantastic work, though, because they took my photoβ€”and I’m already up to 30,000 points on the Wall of Fame!

Not bad for a little mouse! ⭐

🐭 Day 12 for Monty – A Visit to Toongabbie!

It was lovely to see a familiar face and catch up with Miss Pheobe again!

I arrived a little early, so Miss Pheobe showed me what the students can do while they waitβ€”a find-a-word. Sounds fun, right? Well…it was a cat find-a-word! Miss Pheobe, this little mouse is terrified of cats! 🐱😱

Once I had survived that ordeal, it was time to start lessons. Today, I joined Miss Tereza, who was so lovely and funny! She taught me a very handy spelling trick: the β€œOh, you lucky duck!” rule for remembering words with the β€œ-ould” ending.

Apparently, I did very well because Miss Tereza shared some special stickers with me! ⭐

I certainly am a lucky duck… I think! πŸπŸ¦†

🐭 Day 11 – Greystanes! πŸ’™

Today I visited Kip McGrath Greystanes, and Miss Phoebe wasted no time getting me settled in for my lesson alongside one of her students!

I couldn't believe how much we fit into just one hour. We worked on my reading, and I had to concentrate really hard because I'm still learning. πŸ“š Miss Phoebe was so patient and encouraging, and to top it all off, she gave me stickers for trying my best. I think stickers make learning even more fun! ⭐

But that's not all...

I finally met Mark! 🀩

I wasn't lucky enough to be in one of his lessons today, but I could hear him teaching from across the centre. Now I understand why everyone keeps telling me he's the best! He had the students laughing one minute and then explaining tricky maths so clearly the next. I saw so many lightbulb moments πŸ’‘ as everything started to click.

Towards the end of my visit, I have to admit... I got a little distracted. 🀭 The smell from the pizza shop next door was floating into the centre, and all I could think about was a cheese pizza! πŸ•πŸ§€

Before I left, Mark made me a promise...

When I'm ready for algebra, he's going to teach me too!

Now that's something to look forward to! If anyone can teach this little mouse algebra, its Mark for sure πŸ’™πŸ

🐭 Day 10 – Hello, Kellyville! πŸ’™

I made it to Sydney and headed straight to Kip McGrath Kellyville for my first day in New South Wales!

Miss Ciara welcomed me with a game of Snakes and Ladders... and now I know why it's a crowd favourite! 🎲 Every time the students completed an activity, they got to move their marker. Other than cheese, I've never been so motivated! πŸ§€πŸ˜‚

I also met Miss Lucy, who told me all about the amazing students at Kellyville. Every student is working towards their own goals, and it's incredible to hear how far so many of them have already come. πŸ’™

Now... there's one more person I keep hearing about... Mark! πŸ€” Every student I've spoken to who's been tutored by Mark says he's the best. That's a pretty big reputation to live up to! I'm hoping our paths cross while I'm travelling...

The real question is... can he teach me maths? πŸβž•πŸ“š

Stay tuned... I might just find out! πŸ‘€

πŸπŸ’™ Monty on Tour | Day 8 – Caloundra (Sunshine Coast), QLD

Today's adventure took me to Caloundra, and wow... what a beautiful part of the world! πŸŒŠβ˜€οΈ

I have to admit, I was looking forward to feeling the sand between my paws, but first I had a very important job to do... meet the wonderful team at Kip McGrath Caloundra.

The moment I walked through the door, I felt right at home.

Miss Sian welcomed me with the biggest smile and made me feel so at ease. She is so kind and nurturing, and when I listened to her teaching, it was obvious she has a wealth of knowledge to share. Her students are very lucky to have her.

Then I met a lovely man named Jeremy... although everyone here calls him Jez, so I did too! πŸ˜„Jez was awesome.

I told him all about the maths I've been learning on my travels, and little did I know I'd stumbled across the ultimate maths tutor! He sat me down, shared some clever tips and suddenly things that had seemed tricky became so much simpler.

I honestly wish I could keep travelling with Jez. I reckon he'd have me solving all sorts of maths problems before the month is over!

While I was busy learning, Miss Jess, Miss Eliza, Miss Jane and Miss Caterina were all hard at work teaching their students. Every session I peeked into was filled with focused learners, encouraging tutors and plenty of reading and maths happening.

This centre has such a calm, welcoming feel, and it's easy to see why students enjoy coming here.

Now, if you'll excuse me...

I'm off to the beach to snack on some cheese πŸ§€πŸ–οΈ and ponder whether this little mouse should consider a sea change.

See you on my next adventure!

πŸπŸ’™ Monty on Tour | Day 7 – Forest Lake, QLD

Today's stop was Forest Lake, and you'll never guess who I bumped into...
Mr Drew! πŸ˜„

I think he's following me... or maybe I'm following him! Either way, it was great to see a familiar face again.
I also met Miss Amy and Mr Jacob, and they made me feel so welcome from the moment I arrived.

Miss Taylor had been telling me just how busy Forest Lake is, but I don't think I truly believed her until I saw it for myself.

The first thing I noticed was the WOW Wall, covered in photos of students. I tried counting them all...

Let's just say... I lost count. 🀭 think I might need a little more help with my maths!

Before long, the centre came to life as students started arriving. There was so much excitement in the waiting area. We even played a game of UNO before lessons began! πŸƒ

While we were playing, the mums and dads were chatting together, students were catching up with their tutors, and there was such a lovely buzz throughout the whole centre.

It wasn't just busy...

It felt like a real community.

Time for some rest... I've heard tomorrow's stop is by the beach, and I'm hoping cheese tastes even better with an ocean view! πŸ§€πŸ–οΈ
