Today we didn’t stop but found time to celebrate 2026 early childhood educators day and the incredible team of passionate, caring, dedicated, and supportive educators we have at CVC.

Early childhood educators play a vital role in children’s lives.
Today we not only thank and give praise to our educators we recognise and thank early childhood educators in all services, long day care, preschool, family day care, and occasional care. As you get up tomorrow to go for another day at work remember your valued, your helping shape the next generations and that is a job to be proud of.

🌻 Our Sunflower Growing Journey! 🌻

We’ve been patiently waiting for our sunflower seeds to grow, checking on them each day for signs of new life. While we wait, we’ve been caring for our seeds by checking whether they need water and making sure they receive plenty of sunshine. ☀️💧

There have been lots of curious questions along the way: “Is it growing yet?”, “Why is it taking so long?” and “How long will it take?” 🌱

We even noticed the soil beginning to crack and wondered if the seeds were getting ready to make their way through! 👀

On Day 9, we were very excited to discover that some of our seeds had started to germinate! 🌱✨

We also noticed the soil was a little dry, so the children helped give our growing seeds a gentle drink of water.

We’ll continue to observe, care for and track the growth of our sunflowers, watching closely to see which seeds begin to emerge next.

🌊 Australian Environments Project 🌿

Over the past few weeks, during our mindful time, the children have been given opportunities to wonder, explore and share their ideas about the different environments and habitats found across Australia.

We created a collaborative poster showcasing the children’s growing understanding of what makes up a coastal habitat from the sandy shoreline to the coral and marine life found deep beneath the ocean. 🐚🐠🌊

We extended this by bringing the children’s ideas to life through a sculptural project using recycled materials! ♻️

The children started with a cardboard box, which become the base of our coastal cliff, while additional cardboard around the base transformed into our sandy shore.

This is just the beginning! We’re excited to watch our mini coastal habitat evolve as the children continue to add, create, investigate and share their ideas.
