Avondale School was founded in April 1897 on the grounds of Avondale College. Fifteen children attended the original school with some rowing up Dora Creek to the school grounds. ng about 900 students to Avondale School daily. During the 1970's the growth of Avondale College made it necessary for the School to find a new location and in 1980 the School moved to its present location at the end of Avondale Road. The campus, now situated on a 17 hectare property of rural bushland at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, provides a safe, traffic free and tranquil environment for students to learn and grow. Avondale School has reflected the demand for quality education in the area by expanding in the 1980's with a new Secondary Library and a Music Building. The new millennium has seen further significant growth with the opening of the Avondale Early Learning Centre in 2003, the state-of-the-art Kindy building in 2006 and the much anticipated Multi-Purpose Centre opening June 2007. 2011 saw our new iCentre (Library and Information Technology Centre) open. The School is governed by a School Council and is a member of the Seventh-day Adventist School System in Australia. Avondale School offers co-educational studies for K -12 while the Avondale Early Learning Centre provides excellent facilities for pre-school aged children.

Join us for Centre Stage - a joyful evening of excellence in our purpose-built Worship Centre and Performing Arts facility. The concert will feature our Primary music ensembles and soloists, each performing their very best work. It’s a special opportunity to celebrate your child’s dedication, passion, and musical skills.

Centre Stage will be held on Thursday 3 September, one night only!

Adults - $15
Student/Child - $10
Family (2 Adults, 2 Children) - $45

All proceeds go toward reinvesting in the Primary Music program.

Our Year 11 Visual Arts students recently visited the newly redeveloped Newcastle Art Gallery, engaging with significant works from its collection and extending their learning beyond the classroom.
