In every child, a sunrise glows,
A garden blooms, a river flows.
Their laughter paints the skies so wide,

No tear should fall, no voice be lost,
No dream be silenced, at any cost.
For every child deserves to stand,
Held by love, with gentle hands.

May kindness guard them, fierce yet mild,
May peace surround each precious child.
The world grows brighter, pure, and true,
When hearts remember—they matter too.

🌋 Science Week Fun – Volcano Eruption! 🌋

Today for Science Week we explored the exciting world of volcanoes!
We started by watching a video to see how a volcano erupts and what happens when the hot lava flows out. The children were so fascinated, pointing and gasping at the moving lava!

Then we headed outside to build our own volcano using sand around a recycled bottle. We poured in vinegar mixed with red food colouring and added bi-carb soda… and just like magic — it erupted! 🌋✨ The fizzing, bubbling ‘lava’ had everyone giggling and shouting in excitement.

A fun way to explore science, teamwork, and curiosity all in one! 💡❤️

Dear families, friends, and the the children I care for each day,

My heart is heavy with pain and sadness as I reflect on the recent, horrific abuse cases that have come to light in childcare centres across our country. As someone who has dedicated their life to providing a safe, nurturing, and loving environment for children, I am deeply disturbed by these senseless acts.

I want to take a moment to reassure you all — the well-being, safety, and happiness of the children in my care is, and always will be, my top priority. I work tirelessly each day to ensure that every child feels loved, supported, respected, and protected.

I am truly grateful for the trust you have placed in me. It is an honour to care for your precious little ones, and a privilege to play a role in their early years. Family Day Care is a unique and personal form of care — so much trust is placed in us, and that is something I never take lightly.

Thank you for believing in me and in the care I provide. While my heart is heavy with the uncertainty and fear now surrounding our profession, please know that I remain committed to providing a haven where children can learn, grow, explore, feel heard — and above all, feel safe.

To my fellow FDC educators, and to previous colleagues still working in long day care — I feel your pain. I see the incredible work we do, the love and dedication we pour into our services, and the responsibility we carry in caring for the beautiful children entrusted to us.

🎉 A Whole Year of ADVENTURES! 🎉

One year ago, Adventures with Miss Alyssia opened its doors, and what an incredible journey it has been!
From giggles in the garden to messy craft sessions, from exploring nature to learning new skills, we’ve had a year full of laughter, friendship, and discovery.

A huge heartfelt thank you to all of the wonderful families who have been part of this adventure. Your trust and support mean the world to me, and I’m so proud of the little community we’ve built together. 💛
